Bryson Green Catches Late Touchdown In Preseason Loss
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Bryson Green did not see much action in Thursday's preseason opener, but he did have an impact late in the game, however brief. Just inside the two-minute warning, Green caught a one-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kedon Slovis to give the Cardinals the lead in the back-and-forth affair against the Carolina Panthers. The glory of the go-ahead score was short-lived, as the Panthers put together a game-winning drive on their ensuing possession. Still, Green did himself a favor with his sure-handed play as he needs to demonstrate his value at every opportunity afforded to him. An undrafted free agent and member of Arizona's practice squad in 2025, Green is vying for a roster spot as much as he is jockeying for placement on the depth chart. His next opportunity to prove himself will come against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 13.

Simi Fehoko Catches Touchdown Pass In Preseason Opener
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Simi Fehoko caught his lone target for a five-yard touchdown in Thursday's 33-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Fehoko had the second-highest snap count among Arizona's wide receivers, but was ignored in the pass game outside of his end zone target. The score came on a five-yard fade route midway through the second quarter. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Fehoko got outside his defender and pulled in the pass from quarterback Carson Beck with one arm to secure the touchdown. Fehoko will be fighting this preseason for a role in the back end of the Cardinals' wide receiver depth chart. He has been in the NFL since 2021, having previously played for the Cowboys and Chargers, but has never played in more than eight games in a season. This is his second year with the Cardinals. His next chance to work his way up the ladder will come against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 13.

Corey Kiner Scores First Points Of NFL Preseason
Arizona Cardinals running back Corey Kiner punched in a touchdown from the one-yard line with five seconds to go in the first quarter of Thursday's Hall of Fame Game. Kiner handled 14 carries for 57 yards, leading Arizona in rushing attempts and coming up three yards shy of team leader Bam Knight's 60 in the eventual 33-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Kiner operated as Knight's backup in the first half, but Kiner took on a more prominent role after halftime. Arizona's running back room is overcrowded, so Kiner did himself a favor with his solid performance. Third-overall pick Jeremiyah Love and free agent signee Tyler Allgeier are at the top of the depth chart. With Knight, James Conner (foot), and Trey Benson (knee) contending for the third-string role, Kiner will need some strong preseason showings just to hold onto a roster spot. His next chance to prove his worth will be on August 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kedon Slovis Throws Touchdown In Hall of Fame Game
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kedon Slovis was effective in relief of starter Carson Beck in Thursday's 33-30 loss to the Panthers. Slovis went 9-for-10 for 106 passing yards and one touchdown after taking over in the third quarter of the preseason opener. Slovis' one-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Green just inside the two-minute warning gave the Cardinals a late lead that was ultimately nullified by the Panthers' ensuing touchdown drive to close the game. Slovis, an undrafted free agent in 2025, was on the Cardinals' practice squad last year and was on the active roster for two games. He is at the bottom of Arizona's depth chart and does not pose a real threat to those ahead of him. Slovis' next opportunity to showcase his talents will come on August 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Carson Beck Has Impressive Debut In Hall of Fame Game
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck put on a show in the NFL's first preseason game of 2026. Beck operated as the signal-caller for the first half plus the opening drive of the third quarter. He went 15-for-19 for 188 passing yards and one touchdown in the eventual 33-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The rookie engineered a 96-yard drive in the first quarter that culminated in a rushing touchdown from running back Corey Kiner. Beck kicked off Arizona's next drive with a 49-yard bomb to receiver Jalen Brooks and three plays later hit Simi Fehoko on a five-yard fade route for a touchdown. Beck's performance added some fuel to the simmering quarterback competition in Arizona. Jacoby Brissett, who signed a one-year, $15.5 million contract in July, is still the presumed starter, but free agent signee Gardner Minshew II's position on the depth chart suddenly looks less secure. Beck's next chance to impress will come on August 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jeremiyah Love Won't Play in Hall of Fame Game on Thursday
Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said that rookie first-round running back Jeremiyah Love will not play in Thursday's Hall of Fame preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, according to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com. Unsurprisingly, not many starters, if any at all, will play for either team in their preseason opener. The 21-year-old do-it-all back from Notre Dame was the third overall pick back in April, but reports have suggested that LaFleur plans to ease Love into a crowded backfield to begin his NFL career. Early in training camp, Love and Tyler Allgeier have been sharing most of the first-team reps, with veteran James Conner being eased in as the RB3 after a season-ending foot injury early in 2025. Even though Love isn't going to see a bell-cow role early on in Arizona, he's still the most attractive upside option in the Cardinals' backfield in fantasy, and RotoBaller has him ranked as its No. 13 RB for the upcoming season. Long-term, Love offers the entire package and has the skills to be one of the best fantasy backs for years to come.

Trey Benson Returns to Practice on Tuesday
Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson (knee) returned to practice on Tuesday after a flare-up last week, according to head coach Mike LaFleur. Benson is coming off a 2025 season in which he missed most of the year following meniscus surgery in October. The 2024 third-round pick is on the roster bubble, competing for touches with third-overall pick Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier, and former starter James Conner. Benson is a trade candidate, as his current RB4 role is well below his talent level. Fantasy managers will need to monitor the former Florida State running back's status heading into 2026, as he could offer late-round appeal if traded to the right situation.

Carson Beck to Start Hall of Fame Game on Thursday
Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Carson Beck will start Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers, according to head coach Mike LaFleur. The third-round pick is part of an open competition with Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew for Arizona's regular-season starting job, so the assignment gives him the first live-game opportunity to make his case. Beck completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions over 16 games during his final season at Miami, helping the Hurricanes reach the national championship game. Arizona selected him with the 65th overall pick in April. A strong performance Thursday would not settle the competition, but it could earn Beck additional preseason work and strengthen his standing with the new coaching staff. His experience and accuracy give him a chance to make the race interesting, though he remains primarily a dynasty and deeper Superflex option until the Cardinals provide more clarity under center.

Trey Benson Experiencing Discomfort in his Knee
Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson (knee) experienced discomfort and flaring in his left knee, head coach Mike LaFleur told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. LaFleur said Benson was feeling better on Monday, though, which is "good news," and the head coach doesn't expect it to be a multi-week issue. The Cardinals are being cautious with Benson on a daily basis after he required season-ending arthroscopic surgery on the same knee last season. The 24-year-old former third-rounder in 2024 from Florida State only played in four games in 2025 in his sophomore campaign with the Cardinals, and then the organization went out and drafted Jeremiyah Love in the first round and signed Tyler Allgeier in free agency. As things currently stand, Benson is the Cardinals' RB4 in training camp behind Allgeier, Love, and James Conner. The good news is that Benson could end up playing in Thursday's Hall of Fame preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, and he should be ready for the start of the 2026 regular season. However, Benson's value may have dropped more than any fantasy RB since the start of last year due to injuries and added competition in the backfield. Fantasy managers should be ignoring him in redraft leagues in 2026.

Trey Benson Absent from Practice
Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson, who has been working primarily with the second-team offense as he works his way back from the torn meniscus that ended his 2025 season, was not spotted during Sunday's practice. The third-year back was not mentioned as an expected absence when head coach Mike LaFleur addressed the media before practice, and he is not a player who can afford to fall any further behind, already battling for a roster spot in a crowded room featuring roster locks Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier, as well as veteran James Conner. The Cardinals open up preseason action with the Hall of Fame Game on August 6, and Benson's participation will need to be monitored, as he may need to prove himself during in-game action to earn a spot on the team.

Jeremiyah Love Handles First-Team Snaps in Practice on Sunday
For the first time in training camp, rookie running back Jeremiyah Love took the first snap of the day with the Arizona Cardinals' first-team offense during 11-on-11 work. Love has spent time with the second-team offense, behind Tyler Allgeier, who signed a two-year, $12.25 million contract with the Cardinals this offseason. Reports indicate that Allgeier and Love have split touches so far in training camp, even though veteran James Conner has yet to practice. The Notre Dame prodigy was drafted third overall by the team and is currently among the NFL's highest-paid running backs this season. While the talent gap should push Love to the top of the depth chart, there are plenty of red flags surrounding this situation.

Tyler Allgeier Opens Atop Cardinals' Initial Depth Chart
Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier sits atop the team's first unofficial depth chart, according to Tyler Drake of Arizona Sports. The listing lines up with early camp practices, where Allgeier has often worked ahead of rookie Jeremiyah Love. Arizona signed the former Atlanta Falcon to a two-year, $12.25 million contract in March, then selected Love third overall in April. Allgeier rushed 143 times for 514 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns last season, and he has averaged 4.3 yards per carry across four NFL seasons. The Cardinals also have James Conner and Trey Benson in a deep backfield, so the RB1 label does not guarantee Allgeier will lead the group in touches once the season begins. Still, the early placement suggests he has a real chance to open the year with a meaningful role while Love gets up to speed. Allgeier's limited receiving history could make his fantasy production dependent on carries and goal-line opportunities, but he remains firmly involved in Arizona's plans.

Jeremiyah Love Listed as RB2 on Arizona's Depth Chart
Arizona Cardinals rookie first-round running back Jeremiyah Love is listed behind Tyler Allgeier on the team's first unofficial depth chart, according to Tyler Drake of Arizona Sports. The placement aligns with what reporters have seen in practice, with Allgeier working ahead of Love in many team drills. The rookie has started receiving more first-team opportunities, however, after seeing limited work with that group during OTAs and minicamp. Arizona selected Love third overall in April following a final season at Notre Dame in which he rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 27 receptions for 280 yards and three more scores. His talent and draft investment should still lead to a significant role, but the Cardinals also have Allgeier, James Conner, and Trey Benson available in a crowded backfield. Preseason depth charts are unofficial and can change quickly, so Love's RB2 designation should not be viewed as a final decision. It does suggest that fantasy managers may need to be patient while the rookie works his way toward the top of the rotation.

Trey McBride Has High Hopes for Cardinals Offense
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride had high praise for the playmakers on the Cardinals' offense and said this is the year they break out. "We have so many playmakers on this offense with Marvin (Harrison Jr.), with (Michael Wilson), with me, with Jeremiyah (Love), with all these guys." "We're about to break out. This is the year it happens. Our talent is very underrated. Our offensive skill is one of the best in the NFL." McBride is entering Year 4 with Arizona and his first season under new head coach Mike LaFleur. The bad news is that LaFleur's offenses haven't favored tight ends in the past, with only one tight end totaling over 500 yards receiving in LaFleur's five years as an offensive coordinator. McBride is coming off a remarkable season, totaling over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns on an NFL-record 126 receptions. McBride will need to overcome LaFleur's history with tight ends, as he should go off the board as a top two tight end in fantasy this season.

Michael Wilson Looks Like Cardinals' Best Receiver
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has "generally looked better" than Marvin Harrison Jr. early in training camp, hauling in multiple diving catches while Harrison has "struggled for consistency," according to Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic. Harrison is the team's starting X receiver, while Wilson is the starting Z receiver in new head coach Mike LaFleur's offense. Wilson is more of "a move piece," meaning he's still an outside receiver, but he often aligns closer to the formation. Harrison is typically the lone WR on the field when the offense is in three tight-end sets, and so far, Harrison has earned more targets than Wilson, with 17 to Wilson's 12. Wilson broke out with 78 catches, 1,006 yards, and seven touchdowns in 17 games in 2025 in his third year in the league, but the Cardinals were an extremely pass-happy offense, and Harrison missed time due to injury. The 26-year-old former third-rounder in 2023 from Stanford is clearly a player on the rise, but if Harrison stays healthy all year, Wilson won't be a lock to improve on his numbers from a year ago in Arizona's new offense. RotoBaller currently has Wilson ranked as the No. 40 fantasy WR in 2026.
