The New York Mets have placed designated hitter/outfielder Starling Marte (knee) on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 7, with a bruised right knee. They also reinstated DH/outfielder Jesse Winker (oblique) from the 60-day IL. Marte injured his knee in his final at-bat against the New York Yankees on Sunday. The 36-year-old said he's "not really worried" about it, but the Mets will err on the side of caution with the All-Star break approaching and Winker available to pick up the slack at DH. Marte leads the team in DH appearances (49) and has hit .270/.353/.387 with four homers, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored, and five steals in 188 trips to the plate.--Connor Byrne
