Cal Quantrill Deals With Cramping on Tuesday
Cal Quantrill (hamstring) dealt with some cramping in his left hamstring during his start on Tuesday against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies, according to manager Clayton McCullough. The good news is the team doesn't expect any lingering effects, and Quantrill should be ready to make his next start next Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants. The 30-year-old allowed three earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out only two in four innings in a no-decision on Tuesday. He has gone 3-7 with a career-worst 5.68 ERA (4.44 FIP) and 1.47 WHIP with 48 strikeouts and 19 walks in 63 1/3 innings over 14 starts in his first year with the Marlins. Even with a ballpark upgrade in Miami over Coors Field last year, Quantrill has not been very good and should be avoided for streaming purposes in his next start.
