Ryan Clifford Goes Deep Twice on Wednesday
Ryan Clifford went 3-for-4 with two long balls, three RBI, and a walk during their contest against Double-A Reading on Wednesday evening. Clifford was able to snap a nine-game power skid in a big way with his second two-homer game of the campaign. During this nine-game slump, the former 11th-round pick posted a low .086/.200/.114 slash line with a double. Through 89 total games with Double-A this season, Clifford has posted a .235/.351/.476 line with an .827 OPS and 19 round-trippers. Last summer, Clifford made his Double-A debut and held a similar .231/.359/.456 line but just 18 long balls across a larger 98-game stint. If Clifford can continue to progress, he may be in the mix to earn a taste of Triple-A later this season.
