Chargers to Utilize Hot-Hand Approach in Backfield Moving Forward?
Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that he's unsure whether it would be running backs Omarion Hampton or Kimani Vidal getting the bulk of the backfield work moving forward. "It's so fluid. It could change at a drop of a hat, and I'm always going to go with the hot hand," said Roman. "You never know who that's going to be...But right now I'm seeing two guys with the hot hand, so that's a good problem to have." While that may be a favorable position for a head coach, it clouds the actual value of this backfield for fantasy. It makes sense that LA would increase the rookie's snap share as he's further removed from injury, but if Vidal keeps running hot, the latter may get the opportunity to run away with the job for the remainder of the season. For now, fantasy managers can approach this as something of a committee, although who leads it will vary weekly. The duo will face a tough Kansas City front in Week 15.
