Aroldis Chapman Leaves with Apparent Injury on Sunday
Aroldis Chapman (undisclosed) exited his appearance against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday with an undisclosed injury. The All-Star southpaw left the mound with a trainer in the eighth inning after walking two hitters and retiring Shohei Ohtani on a flyout. Chapman threw 11 pitches, only four of which were strikes, and experienced a dip in velocity. The 37-year-old's typical fastball has clocked in at 98.5 mph this season, but it only averaged 94.6 on Sunday. The Red Sox and fantasy managers are left to hope this isn't anything serious, as Chapman has thrived this season. He entered Sunday with a 1.31 ERA, a 0.77 WHIP, 61:11 K:BB, and 18 saves in 20 chances over 41 1/3 innings.
