Josh Smith Out on Tuesday With Tight Hamstring
Josh Smith (hamstring) is out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals due to a tight upper left hamstring, according to manager Bruce Bochy. It is a similar injury to what Smith dealt with last year on his other leg. The 27-year-old didn't need a trip to the injured list in 2024, and Bochy doesn't expect he will this year, either. Ezequiel Duran is starting at the hot corner on Tuesday and is batting ninth against Royals right-hander Seth Lugo. It sounds as though Smith will have a chance to return before the series finale on Thursday. The super-utility player continues to have a big role for Texas and has contributed a little bit of everything for fantasy managers with a .288 average (63-for-219) with seven homers, 20 RBI, 32 runs and eight steals in 63 games. Duran should be avoided in DFS with a .150 average and no homers in his 40 at-bats in 2025.
