Gavin Williams Strikes Out Six in Quality Start
Gavin Williams picked up his fifth win of the year in a 4-2 victory over the Angels on Sunday. He pitched a quality start, allowing two unearned runs on one hit and two walks while striking out six. It was a nice bounce-back outing after he failed to last five innings in his last time out against the Dodgers. It's been an up-and-down season for the 25-year-old, who was a popular breakout pick heading into the season. He's had some solid starts but has ultimately struggled with control to the tune of a 13.2% walk rate. The youngster should be considered a back-end rotation type for fantasy that you can play the matchups with, but won't fully be able to be trusted until he can get the ball in the zone more consistently.
