Rasmus Hojgaard Doesn't Check Enough Boxes to be Useful at 3M Open
After a missed cut last week at the Open Championship, Rasmus Hojgaard is teeing it up this week at TPC Twin Cities and needs to kick things into gear down the stretch to secure starts next season. He sits 123rd in the FedEx Cup race and has struggled to find consistency this year with little success at any meaningful tournament. Hojgaard has the length that we've seen be successful at this week's 3M Open, but the level of accuracy off the tee and long-iron play he also needs is not a strength he's possessed this season. The 25-year-old ranks 155th in driving accuracy and 143rd in proximity to the hole from 175-200 yards, which made up 22% of approach shots last year. The elite ball striking that eludes the Dane makes him more of a liability than a worthy option.
