Colson Montgomery Missing Another Game
Colson Montgomery (side) is missing another game on Thursday against the visiting New York Yankees at Rate Field. Chase Meidroth is starting at shortstop for the Pale Hose and will hit ninth against Yankees right-hander Will Warren. Montgomery initially dealt with a left-side issue last week but had returned before developing more soreness and being held out of Wednesday's game. It sounds like a day-to-day situation for the 23-year-old, but fantasy managers shouldn't rule out a trip to the injured list if he's unable to return before the end of the weekend. With Meidroth at short, Lenyn Sosa draws into the lineup at second base. Montgomery will operate as Chicago's starting shortstop the rest of the way if he's healthy, and although he's hit just .230 in his first 152 big-league at-bats, the power is real (14 homers).
