Adael Amador Recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque
Adael Amador has been recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. With Thairo Estrada hitting the 10-day injured list, the Rockies called up Amador to fill the need at second base. The 22-year-old debuted with the Rockies last season and saw playing time with the club earlier this year, but has not been able to have much success to this point. In 46 career games, the switch-hitter has produced a .180/.253/.256 slash line, although he was 5-for-9 (.556) with a pair of doubles and a 1:1 BB:K in the three games he played for Colorado in July, so perhaps he was on the verge of turning things around. The 5-foot-11 Dominican owns a respectable 79.6 percent contact rate in the majors and low strikeout rates in the minors, and if he can start hitting, he should also begin stealing bases. For now, though, he's just a speculative waiver add in NL-only leagues. He's starting at second base on Wednesday and batting eighth in a home matchup with the Blue Jays.
