Zac Gallen Fans 10 in Tuesday's Win
Zac Gallen turned in one of his best starts of the season in Tuesday's 8-2 victory over the Giants. Gallen pitched seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits (including a solo home run) and no walks with 10 strikeouts. The 29-year-old now has a 13-strikeout effort and a 10-strikeout performance this season. Unfortunately, strikeouts have been hard to come by for him overall, and he has had a very disappointing season. Gallen is now 6-9 with a 5.45 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, an 8.48 K/9 rate, and a 3.63 BB/9 rate in 18 starts and 104 IP. His next start will be a favorable one against an underperforming Royals lineup. However, Gallen has allowed at least four runs in eight of his last 10 starts, so fantasy managers may consider starting him in points leagues only until he can truly get things back on track.
