Kenny Golladay 2018 Outlook: Touchdown Dependent Upside
6 years agoOkay, maybe things got a little out of control last off-season. Kenny Golladay showed up to training camp and the pre-season ready to take a chunk of playing time and insert himself into the starting lineup right away. Unfortunately, he didn’t carry it over to the regular season while Marvin Jones and Golden Tate had great performances. You may not see any better of a season in 2018. The good news is that the Lions defense won’t be very good this year. Many view the team as bottom half in defense and Matthew Stafford will need to throw a lot.
Golladay will have a shot at more touchdowns with the departure of Eric Ebron and Darren Fells, who combined for seven in 2017. The main targets will continue to be Tate and Jones, but the Lions could move on from Tate at the end of the year. In redraft leagues, you could buy Golladay to offer some weekly WR3 or flex play. Touchdowns will be the name of the game though and if Golladay doesn’t get enough red zone looks he won’t be a viable option. Don’t overdraft again and await the breakout in 2019.
