Jamison Crowder 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Free Agent After Latest Giants Cuts
2 years agoWide receiver Jamison Crowder was set to play for his third team in three seasons after signing a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the New York Giants this offseason. However, after the latest Giants' cuts before Week 1, Crowder was let go. The wideout was coming off a disappointing 2022 season that saw the veteran play in just four games with the Buffalo Bills due to a fractured ankle. He had just six catches for 60 yards last season. Crowder's best season of his career came in 2019 when he had 78 catches for 833 yards and six touchdowns and finished as the WR26 in PPR formats. But that level of fantasy success wasn't attainable if the Giants did decide to keep him in 2023, given the Giants' crowded slot receiver room. Sterling Shepard (knee), Wan'Dale Robinson (knee), and rookie Jalin Hyatt would have all likely competed with Crowder for slot snaps in 2023. And with Robinson activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, Crowder wouldn't have seen much playing time. He will head to free agency now, looking for a new home.
