Phillies Reinstate Alec Bohm on Friday
Alec Bohm (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Rafael Lantigua to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move before their contest in Arizona against the Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson. The Phillies have not released their starting lineup for Friday's series opener in the desert, but Bohm should be in it and starting at third base. The 29-year-old's return will push Otto Kemp back to a utility role for the first-place Phils. Bohm missed a minimum of 10 days on the IL with a cyst in his left (non-throwing) shoulder and did not require a minor-league rehab assignment before returning. The former first-rounder has hit a solid .272 (116-for-427) this year, but his power has been down (only nine homers) in 111 games.
