Jonathan Cannon Scratched With Back Tightness, Bryse Wilson to Start
Jonathan Cannon (back) has been scratched from his start on Saturday against the Texas Rangers due to lower-back tightness and is listed as day-to-day, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. With Cannon hurting, right-hander Bryse Wilson will make the start at Rate Field. It sounds like Cannon might be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but it's unclear when he'll be able to take the mound again. The 24-year-old has only 42 strikeouts in 55 innings over his 10 outings (eight starts) this year, but he's been decent with a 3.76 ERA (4.06 FIP) and 1.31 WHIP in his second year in the big leagues. The Rangers are an excellent matchup with a .651 OPS (fourth-worst in baseball), but Wilson will still be a volatile and risky fantasy streamer on Saturday. In his four starts in 2025, he has allowed 13 earned runs on 27 hits (four homers) with eight walks and 10 K's in 17 2/3 frames.
