Luis Robert Jr. Activated, Batting Sixth on Tuesday
Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Tristan Gray to Triple-A Charlotte. Robert missed the last two weeks with a strained left hamstring. He's returning Tuesday to start in center field and bat sixth against Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Now that he's back, Robert could be an interesting player to watch as we draw closer to the July 31 trade deadline. While Robert did come up in the rumor mill before his IL stint, his trade value is likely in the tank. The 27-year-old has batted a career-worst .185/.270/.313 with eight home runs, 32 RBI, 27 runs scored, and a 30.9% strikeout rate in 285 plate appearances. On the positive side, with 22 stolen bases, Robert is just one away from tying a career high.
