Rafael Devers 2024 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Doubles, Home Runs Propel Lefty To Top-3 Finish At Third Base
11 months agoLast season, Boston Red Sox's third baseman, Rafael Devers, collected 34 doubles and 33 home runs on his way to being the fifth-fastest player ever - in terms of games played - to reach 200 2B and 150 HR. The four other players who did it faster are either in the Hall of Fame or on their way to the Hall. There's no reason to expect anything different in 2024. The 2x All-Star has an FGDC projection of .285-35-102-103-5 with 38 projected doubles, a WOBA of .374, and a wRC+ of 134. While he wasn't an All-Star selection in 2023, he did win the Silver Slugger award in the AL for best offensive third baseman, his second time winning the award. The powerful lefty has been a good player since his debut in 2017 and is only now entering his prime years – he'll enter the 2024 season at age 27. 31-year-old Jose Ramirez's ability to steal bases inflates his price tag, with an NFBC ADP of 14. Still, Devers is more appropriately priced with an NFBC ADP of 26 and offers similar production to Austin Riley, who is going five picks earlier.
