Max Homa finished tied for 18th at last week's Sanderson Farms Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Homa has five top-25 finishes and missed the cut seven times in 23 starts this season. Over the past 12 months, Homa ranks in the 28th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is worth pointing out because at last year's ZOZO Championship over 34% of approach shots came from this distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Wyndham Clark returns to action this week for the Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Clark has eight top-25 finishes and missed the cut five times in 23 starts this season. Over the past 12 months, Clark ranks in the 67th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is important because at last year's ZOZO Championship over 34% of approach shots came from this distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Rasmus Hojgaard finished tied for third at last week's Sanderson Farms Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. So far this season, Hojgaard has 10 top-25 finishes and missed the cut six times in 24 starts. Over the past 12 months, Hojgaard ranks in the 30th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because at last year's ZOZO Championship over 34% of approach shots came from this distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Hideki Matsuyama finished tied for 13th at the BMW PGA Championship last month and will now focus on preparing for this week's Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Matsuyama has one win, 11 top-25 finishes and missed the cut three times in 23 starts this season. Over the past 12 months, Matsuyama ranks in the 88th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150--200 yards in the fairway. This is worth mentioning because at last year's ZOZO Championship over 34% of approach shots came from this distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Xander Schauffele is set to appear at this week's Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. This will mark only his second tournament since the BMW Championship in August. Schauffele has nine top-25 finishes and no missed cuts this season. Over the past 12 months, Schauffele ranks in the 96th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is worth pointing out because over 34% of approach shots came from this distance at last year's ZOZO Championship.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

After a poor end to the regular season, Luke List came out looking more figured out at the Procore Championship en route to a T30 finish. He didn't do anything miraculous, but he gained strokes across the board for the first time since 2022. He now comes to the familiar Country Club of Jackson for this week's Sanderson Farms Championship, where he won in 2023. Inconsistencies and the pitfalls in his game seem to be worsening with time. He's still a top 30 player in driving distance (312.0), but everything else in his game has slipped outside the top 120 in terms of strokes gained metrics. If this most recent showing is to be believed, List popping up on the leaderboard won't be surprising. However, it will take more than course history and one good tournament to sway DFS opinion on him. He's simply too volatile to trust.--Todd McGill

As the golf world rolls into the fall, Tom Kim is still in search of the metaphorical cliff his game has fallen off of. He only managed two finishes inside the top 25 during the regular season and is in jeopardy of falling outside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup list. And though it doesn't necessarily affect his starting opportunities in full-field events, he desperately needs better placement status for Signature Events and majors. This doesn't look like the week the train will start moving, as the Country Club of Jackson is a ball-striker-centric design that doesn't suit the current form of the South Korean's game. Kim has only managed to gain strokes on approach three times in his last 16 events, and twice off the tee during that span. Avoid until some signs of life begin to show. --Todd McGill

After an ugly year on the PGA Tour, Max Homa turned in a solid T19 at the Procore Championship a few weeks ago, thanks to a good time on the greens and decent approach play. Ball striking as a whole was a real struggle early in the year, but the 34-year-old has gone on to average +0.665 in strokes gained on approach over his last six starts, where stats were provided (excludes one event). He's also averaged +0.620 strokes gained off the tee over his previous four measured starts. Putting and short game remain a struggle, which are really the last pieces of the puzzle to seeing him back on leaderboards. This isn't to say he is a smash-play given the recent trends, but there are certainly riskier options with unknown upside compared to a proven commodity like Homa.--Todd McGill

Coming off back-to-back missed cuts and being snubbed from the European Ryder Cup Team, Nicolai Hojgaard will be looking to return to business this week in Mississippi. The 24-year-old possesses skills that, on paper, seem tailor-made for The Country Club of Jackson. He's a long-ball hitter, ranking fourth this season in driving distance (319.6). The accuracy troubles that inevitably come with it shouldn't hurt him as badly here as at other venues. He also ranks ninth in strokes gained on approach (+0.621) and 26th in birdie or better rate (33.67%). While the short game remains a concern, if he's having to rely on it too much this week, he's in deep trouble anyway. Putting will be the largest decider of the week, and Hojgaard is as streaky as they come. Still, he's a fine player to add in DFS among a field full of unproven names.--Todd McGill

After a breakout campaign in 2024, Davis Thompson took a slight step back in 2025 but still recorded seven top-25 finishes, including a T19 last week at the Procore Championship. He will look to carry that momentum into the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he finished T16 in 2023. Success at this event typically hinges on approach play, putting, and distance off the tee. Thompson ranks 75th in strokes gained approach (+0.101 per round) and 77th in driving distance, but struggles with the flat stick, ranking just 145th in putting and losing -0.325 strokes per round. He also sits in the 80th percentile in proximity from 100-150 yards, a key range that accounted for more than 33% of approach shots here last year. At $9,700 on DraftKings, Thompson is one of the most expensive golfers in the field and will need a solid week with the putter to contend this weekend.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

After an emphatic rise to the pinnacle of the sport, 2025 has been plagued by terrible driving for Nick Dunlap, who ended the regular season ranked 165th in strokes gained off the tee (-1.584). Everything else hasn't been nearly as detrimental, but missing 11 of 16 cuts since March puts into perspective the importance of solid play with the big stick. It's a problem that doesn't seem close to finding a solution. Considering the trends elsewhere in his game, a case could be made that he isn't a bad flyer pick this week after a T28 here last year. However, the detriment caused by his inability to get the ball in play makes him a hard trigger to pull until things show some sign of life. --Todd McGill

Matti Schmid put together a solid 2025 season, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Charles Schwab and seven additional top-25 finishes in 23 events. He will look to continue that form at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he finished T16 last year. In that performance, he gained strokes on approach, putting, and with distance off the tee. This year, Schmid ranks 87th in strokes gained approach (+0.057 per round), 45th in putting (+0.211), and 11th in driving distance. His main concern is proximity from 100-150 yards, a key range that accounted for over 33% of approach shots at this course last year, where he sits in just the 6th percentile. At $7,400 on DraftKings, Schmid has solid upside but remains a volatile option due to his approach struggles.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

Despite missing the cut at the Procore Championship, Thorbjorn Olesen has recorded three top-20 finishes in his last five starts. He will look to carry that form into the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he is making his tournament debut. Success here will hinge on solid approach play, putting, and distance off the tee. Olesen ranks 73rd in strokes gained approach (+0.121 per round), 23rd in putting (+0.359), and 63rd in driving distance. The main area of concern is proximity from 100-150 yards, where he sits in just the 18th percentile, a key range that accounted for more than 33% of approach shots at this course last year. At $7,900 on DraftKings, Olesen is in solid form despite last week's missed cut and remains a strong option for lineups this week.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

Stephan Jaeger has been up and down so far in 2025, recording three top-10 finishes but missing the cut in five of his last seven events. He will look to turn things around at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he has competed eight times, posting four straight top-30 finishes. In his best weeks here, his consistency has come from strong putting and approach play, areas where he has been solid this season. He ranks 60th in strokes gained approach (+0.206 per round) and 44th in putting (+0.217). He also sits in the 84th percentile for proximity from 100-150 yards, a key range that accounted for more than 33% of approach shots at this course last year. At $7,900 on DraftKings, Jaeger is a solid option with plenty of upside at a discounted price.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

It's been a rough 2025 for Hayden Buckley, who has made just five cuts in 19 starts. He'll look to find some form at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he has teed it up five times, missing the cut the last two years and posting his best finish with a T4 in 2021. To have success here again, Buckley will need to be sharper across the board, particularly on approach, putting, and off the tee. He didn't log enough rounds to qualify for official stat rankings this season, but he is losing -0.423 strokes on approach and -0.461 putting, while showing solid distance at 304.5 yards per drive. The bigger issue comes from 100-150 yards, where he sits in just the 3rd percentile. That range accounted for more than 33% of approach shots here last year. Even at $6,200 on DraftKings, Buckley has not shown enough this season to be considered a reliable option.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller
