Luke Weaver Reinstated from 15-Day Injured List
Luke Weaver (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list. When Weaver landed on the IL with a strained left hamstring on June 3, expectations were that he would miss four to six weeks. However, the 31-year-old recovered quicker than expected and was able to forgo a minor league rehab assignment. He's now back about three weeks after suffering the injury, and he'll once again take on a high-leverage role in the Yankees' bullpen. Weaver has worked as a setup man and a closer this year, racking up six holds and eight saves with a sparkling 1.05 ERA in 25 2/3 innings. It's now unclear whether he or righty Devin Williams will close for New York. Weaver took the job from Williams before going on the IL, but the latter has recovered from a terrible start to the season to perform well in the role.
