Carlos Rodon Could Help Fantasy Owners If Healthy
7 years agoShoulder injuries prevented Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon from making much of a fantasy impact in 2017. The left-hander didn't make his debut until late in June. After 12 starts, Rodon's shoulder began to hurt again and he missed the rest of the season. Recovering from arthroscopic should surgery, which has an expected recovery time of six-to-eight months, Rodon is will not be ready to go on Opening Day. Should Rodon prove he is healthy, he will be a big source of strikeouts as he had 76 in just 69 and 1/3 innings this past season. Although the strikeouts are a big help to fantasy owners, he did walk 31 batters. Rodon has a career 3.95 ERA and at just 25 years of age, he has enough upside to improve. Health aside, Rodon makes for a nice late pick in deeper mixed leagues. The potential is there, he just needs his health to be there as well.
