Blake Treinen Looking Sharp on Rehab Assignment, Nearing Big-League Return?
Blake Treinen (forearm) took a big step in his rehab on Thursday when he completed the second night of scheduled back-to-back appearances. Treinen threw 12 pitches in a perfect inning with two strikeouts for Triple-A Oklahoma City. In six innings at Triple-A, Treinen has not allowed an earned run, struck out nine, and walked just one. The 37-year-old has not pitched for the Dodgers since mid-April as he works through a forearm issue, but it appears he could be close to a big league return. Los Angeles recently placed Tanner Scott (elbow) on the 15-day injured list, so there's a clear opportunity for Treinen to earn saves at the back end of the Dodgers' bullpen. Of course, Los Angeles has been linked to just about every prominent relief arm on the trade block, so there could be added competition for Treinen in the pen when he does return.
