The Houston Texans have informed starting offensive guard Shaq Mason that he is being released, a source tells FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Despite the fact that Mason started 32 games for the Texans over the last two seasons, they have decided to move on heading into the 2025 campaign. The 32-year-old veteran offensive lineman was scheduled to make $10 million in base salary this year. The Texans will save $2.117 million on this year's salary cap, but the move also leaves a $12.482 million dead-money hit. Mason dealt with a Grade 1 sprained MCL in his knee in 2024 but was able to return for the Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots will surely attract interest on the open market as an experienced interior offensive lineman.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
