Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 14, from June 24 to June 30. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 39 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

James Paxton (37% Rostered), Los Angeles Dodgers

Scheduled Starts: @ CHW, @ SF

There’s a lot you shouldn’t like about James Paxton’s pitching this season – namely, his 15.4% strikeout rate, 11.4% walk rate, and 4.94 FIP – but a Los Angeles Dodgers starter is likely to feel unintimidated by a White Sox offense ranked dead-last in runs scored and OPS. Look for the 35-year-old to pick up his eighth win of the season, and he has a shot at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park against a middle-of-the-road Giants offense.

Spencer Schwellenbach (11% Rostered), Atlanta Braves

Scheduled Starts: @ STL, vs. PIT

While a 4.98 ERA doesn’t seem to be even close to streaming quality, rookie Spencer Schwellenbach looks to be on the verge of a breakout. His six-pitch arsenal has produced incredible peripheral numbers, with a 3.61 xERA, 15.1% SwStr%, 30.5% CSW%, 39.8% chase rate (100th percentile), and 1.6% opponent barrel rate this season.

Pittsburgh and St. Louis ranked 24th and 26th in runs scored this season, respectively, so this could be the last week you see Schwellenbach on waiver wires this year.

Carson Spiers (11% Rostered), Cincinnati Reds

Scheduled Starts: vs. PIT, @ STL

Carson Spiers will run through the same offenses as Spencer Schwellenbach, but the two are not worth streaming under the same circumstances.

Spiers moved away from a long relief role just last week, with seven hits and four runs allowed in six innings of work against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His numbers look good this season, with a 3.20 ERA, 2.39 FIP, 1.22 WHIP, and 4.7% walk rate through 25 ⅓ innings.

However, his stuff is relatively underwhelming, with a 91 Stuff+ grade, 18.9% strikeout rate, and 21% whiff rate. While there are clearly risks associated with Spiers long term, the 26-year-old should be fine against two of the league’s worst offenses.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Kyle Gibson (36% Rostered), St. Louis Cardinals

Scheduled Starts: vs. ATL, vs. CIN

Kyle Gibson is amid a career year in his age-36 season, with a 3.44 ERA, 21.3% strikeout rate, and 1.20 WHIP through 14 starts and 82 ⅔ innings. There’s some risk with his 4.78 xERA, but the true risk this week is the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta ranks 13th in runs scored this month and 10th since June 9. While they aren’t yet back to world-beater status, they are far too talented a team to mess with in fantasy baseball.

Logan Allen (24% Rostered), Cleveland Guardians

Scheduled Starts: @ BAL, @ KC

While his eight wins through 15 starts look nice, Logan Allen offers very little fantasy appeal (5.23 ERA, 18% strikeout rate, 1.48 WHIP). Allen’s already grotesque line should worsen this week with starts against a white-hot Orioles offense that leads the league in runs scored and a Royals lineup ranked eighth in scoring.

Lance Lynn (24% Rostered), St. Louis Cardinals

Scheduled Starts: vs. ATL, vs. CIN

If the prospering Kyle Gibson comes with risk this week, you better believe 37-year-old Lance Lynn (4.08 ERA, 4.30 xERA, and 25.7% CSW%) is marked for danger this week.

Bailey Falter (11% Rostered), Pittsburgh Pirates

Scheduled Starts: @ CIN, @ ATL

Another pitcher with Atlanta on the docket, Bailey Falter is not much of a better option than Lance Lynn. His 3.74 ERA and 1.12 WHIP look nice, but they come with a 16.5% strikeout rate, 4.59 FIP, and 9.7% SwStr%. It isn't the week for Falter.

Cade Povich (9% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: vs. CLE, vs. TEX

The rookie pitcher has held his own in his first three career starts, with a 3.94 ERA across 16 innings. There’s no reason to hold his 13% strikeout rate and 13% walk rate against him this early in his career, but Povich is on shaky ground as of now.

With an incoming match-up against a Cleveland offense ranked fifth in scoring, Povich should be avoided this week.

Griffin Canning (9% Rostered), Los Angeles Angels

Scheduled Starts: vs. OAK, vs. DET

Through 15 starts this season, Griffin Canning has lost eight games with a 5.22 ERA, 5.33 FIP, 15.4% strikeout rate, 86 Stuff+ grade, and 25.7% CSW%. You can’t trust him against a major-league offense (yes, the Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers do sport major-league offenses this season). Don’t look for Griffin Canning on your waiver wires this week.

Casey Mize (9% Rostered), Detroit Tigers

Scheduled Starts: vs. PHI, @ LAA

Casey Mize hasn’t exactly blown us away this season (4.43 ERA, 15.1% strikeout rate), but the tools needed for success are still at his disposal (3.81 FIP, 6.3% walk rate, 107 Stuff+ grade).

That being said, you shouldn’t even flirt with the idea of streaming him against a Phillies offense ranked fourth in runs scored this season.
