Tyler Locklear Joining Mariners Roster on Wednesday
Tyler Locklear was pulled from Triple-A Tacoma's game on Tuesday night and is expected to join the big-league roster in Sacramento on Wednesday, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. A corresponding move will be made on Wednesday. With Seattle's recent acquisition of Josh Naylor, Locklear will likely be limited to a part-time role as a power bat off the bench. The 24-year-old is coming off a scorching week at Triple-A, which included a stretch when he went 9-for-9 with four homers, nine RBI, and a 1.745 OPS. That earned him the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. It's been a prolonged stretch of strong production for the slugging first baseman, as he leads Triple-A with 16 homers and 56 RBI and is second in OPS at 1.140 since the start of June. He likely won't play enough to be relevant in fantasy, except for deep AL-only formats.
