Brian Campbell May Go Under The Radar At CJ Cup
Source: PGATour.com
Brian Campbell has extremely long odds but there may be a chance for the American golfer at The CJ Cup. Winning would be almost miraculous at +20000 given the field (includes Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth). Another concern is Campbell's up-and-down 2025. Yes, he has one win in Mexico. However, there have been four missed cuts in 10 events. Also, Campbell seems to be haunted by one round an event where things do not go so well. See the Saturday at the Masters and the final round at the RBC Heritage. On the bright side, a Top 20 stands at +450. The TPC Craig Ranch comes in at 7,468 yards. Being long off the tee will not hurt Campbell at much and he could be a cheap DFS option potentially early. Owen Caissie Riding Six-Game Hitting Streak
Owen Caissie is riding a six-game hitting streak at Triple-A. During this stretch, Caissie has held a .286/.400/.667 slash line with two doubles and two home runs. He has also held a 6:4 K:BB. Before this recent stretch, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system held an underwhelming .186/.271/.326 slash line across his last 10 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Caissie's production at Triple-A, as he could be nearing his MLB debut. Last summer, the former second-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft spent his entire 2024 season with Triple-A Iowa. Across 127 games, he held a solid .278/.375/.472 slash line with 29 doubles and 19 long balls. If he can continue to turn the corner, he could be in the mix to earn a promotion in the coming months.Source: MiLB.com
Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Thomas White Racking Up Strikeouts At High-A
Thomas White has enjoyed a strong start to the High-A regular season. Through his first 16 1/3 innings of work, the southpaw has struck out 22 batters and served up 11 free passes. White has tallied at least six punchouts in three of his four outings. However, he has also served up three walks in three of his four starts. Last season, the top prospect in Miami spent most of his time with High-A and held a 2.61 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP across 62 innings of work. During this stint, he struck out 76 batters and allowed 21 walks. If White can continue to lower his walk rate, he should be in the mix to earn a promotion to Double-A. White is an emerging arm in the minor leagues and should be in contention to reach the majors in 2026.Source: MiLB.com
Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Travis Bazzana Hits Skid At Double-A
Travis Bazzana has hit a skid at Double-A Akron. Over his last 10 games, the former No. 1 overall pick has held a .158/.289/.158 slash line with no extra-base hits. During this stretch, Bazzana has held a 14:6 K:BB and swiped just one bag. However, during his first nine games of the season, the Oregon State product was quite productive as he posted a strong .324/.423/.595 slash line with one double, three triples, and one home run. Bazzana made his professional debut after being drafted last summer with High-A. Across a brief 27-game look at that level, Bazzana held a .238/.369/.396 slash line. Fantasy managers should expect the Guardians to continue to keep Bazzana at Double-A for the time being, given his current struggles.Source: MiLB.com
Cleveland Guardians infield prospect Brandon Walter Sharp At Triple-A
Brandon Walter has enjoyed an impressive start to the Triple-A regular season and was named Pacific League Pitcher of the Week. Over his last two outings this past week, Walter has logged 10 shutout innings (two starts) and allowed just four hits and no walks. During this stretch, he has struck out nine batters. Before this impressive week, Walter held a 3.95 ERA with an impressive 0.80 WHIP across his first 13 2/3 innings of the campaign. Walter was unable to pitch at all during the 2024 season due to a shoulder injury, but appears to have already found his footing early in the 2025 season. He made his MLB debut in 2023 with the Red Sox but held a modest 6.26 ERA across his first 23 major league frames. If he continues to perform well at Triple-A, he could push for a return to the big leagues.Source: MiLB.com
Houston Astros left-handed pitcher James Outman Swinging A Hot Bat At Triple-A
James Outman has enjoyed an impressive week at Triple-A and was named Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week. Over his last seven contests, the outfielder has held a .448/.467/.828 slash line with three doubles, one triple, and two home runs. He has also swiped two bags over this stretch and posted three multi-hit games. This is an excellent sign for Outman, as he held a modest .172/.264/.370 slash line over his first 19 games of the regular season. Outman spent most of the 2023 season in the majors but appeared in only 53 games in 2024, as he was frequently shifted between the big leagues and Triple-A. Fantasy managers should monitor his progression at Oklahoma City, as he could be in the mix to return to the majors. If he does get the call, he could be worth adding in NL-only formats.Source: MiLB.com
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder C.J. Kayfus Headed To Triple-A
C.J. Kayfus to Triple-A Columbus. Kayfus has enjoyed an impressive start to the Double-A regular season and is being rewarded with an early promotion. Through 18 games with Double-A Akron, the infielder has posted a .364/.475/.591 slash line with four doubles, four triples, and one home run. He has added 11 RBI and held a 14:11 K:BB. This is a nice improvement compared to the .263/.366/.470 line he held across his first 67 games at the Double-A level during the 2024 campaign. Fantasy managers should monitor Kayfus' progress at Triple-A as he could push for an MLB debut later this summer if he continues this current pace. He is worth closely monitoring in deeper AL-only redraft leagues, but he is not worth stashing for now.Source: Cleveland Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians have promoted first base prospect Felix Bautista Picks Up Fourth Save On Monday
Felix Bautista tossed a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 4-3 win over the New York Yankees on Monday. Bautista was sharp in the frame, striking out two on 14 pitches without allowing a baserunner. The veteran reliever continues to be a stable piece to the Baltimore bullpen as he now has a 2.25 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts over eight innings of work while converting all four of his save chances. He remains an above-average fantasy closer in all formats.Source: MLB.com
Baltimore Orioles right-hander Ryan O'Hearn Homers On Monday
Ryan O'Hearn added to his homer total in a 4-3 win over the New York Yankees on Monday. O'Hearn went 1-for-4 with a three-run blast to lead the way to the victory over New York. The veteran is off to a fast start in 2025, hitting .300 with five homers, 11 runs, 11 RBI, and one stolen base across 70 at-bats. O'Hearn is worth a look in deeper, AL-only fantasy formats as a potential reserve going forward.Source: MLB.com
Baltimore Orioles DH Hunter Goodman Homers On Monday
Hunter Goodman turned in a productive game in a 6-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Goodman provided all of the offense for his team, going 1-for-4 with a three-run homer. The 25-year-old backstop launched a 402-foot blast in the first inning to give the Rockies an early lead, but that was all they would be able to muster against Atlanta. Goodman is now hitting .256 with five homers, 15 runs, and 14 RBI across 90 at-bats this season. He is in the midst of a hot streak, hitting .308 with two homers and six RBI over his past seven contests.Source: MLB.com
Colorado Rockies catcher Bryce Elder Picks Up First Win Of The Season On Monday
Bryce Elder turned in a quality start in a 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Elder allowed three runs on five hits over six innings while striking out four and walking two to pick up the win. The veteran picked up seven swinging strikes on the way to improving his record to 1-1, to go along with a 5.33 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 27 innings of work this season. With a bloated ERA and low strikeout rate, Elder isn't of much interest in fantasy unless it is as a streaming option in plus matchups.Source: MLB.com
Atlanta Braves right-hander Jesse Winker Scores Four Runs On Monday
Jesse Winker turned in a productive day in a 19-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. Winker went 2-for-4 with two walks, four runs, and an RBI in the lopsided victory over Washington. The veteran needed that as he has been off to a slow start in 2025, hitting just .220 with one homer, seven runs, eight RBI, and a stolen base across 59 at-bats. He is starting to show signs of life with a .286 average over his past seven games. That being said, he is off the radar in fantasy outside of the deepest leagues.Source: MLB.com
New York Mets DH Michael Harris II Doubles, Steals A Base On Monday
Michael Harris II had a productive day in a 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Harris went 1-for-4 with a double, a run, two RBI, and a stolen base in the winning effort. The veteran ripped a two-run double to break a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning, bringing Marcell Ozuna and Ozzie Albies around to score. Harris is now hitting .243 with five doubles, three homers, 11 runs, 15 RBI, and six steals across 107 at-bats this season. He can be counted upon to provide a modest amount of power and speed to fantasy lineups in deeper leagues.Source: MLB.com
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jeff McNeil Hits Three-Run Home Run On Monday
Jeff McNeil hit his first homer of the season in a 19-5 blowout win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. McNeil went 2-for-5 with a triple, a homer, and three RBI to help power the Mets to the win. The veteran has logged just 12 at-bats in 2025 after spending the majority of the season on the injured list while recovering from a right oblique strain, but he's wasted little time catching up as he's hitting .333 with three RBI thus far. McNeil will look to stay hot as the Mets open up a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.Source: MLB.com
New York Mets outfielder Ryan Jeffers Homers, Drives In Three On Monday
Ryan Jeffers had a big day in an 11-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Monday. Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a homer, two runs, and three RBI in the lopsided win. The veteran backstop ripped a two-run homer in the eighth inning, a shot that traveled 412 feet with an exit velocity of 102.3 MPH. Jeffers is now hitting .257 with seven doubles, one homer, seven runs, and 10 RBI across 74 at-bats this season. He hit 21 homers in 2024, so there is some power in his bat, making him a decent fantasy option at the catcher position.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins catcher Dane Myers Hits Grand Slam On Monday
Dane Myers had a huge game in a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings on Monday. Myers, who pinch-hit in the sixth inning, wound up going 2-for-2 with a grand slam, but it wasn't enough to top the Dodgers in extra innings. The big night gives Myers a .315 average, to go along with two homers, eight runs, nine RBI, and two steals across 54 at-bats. Myers has not been an everyday player for the Marlins but he will hope to earn a bit more playing time after Monday's game.Source: MLB.com
Miami Marlins outfielder Riley Greene Homers Twice On Monday
Riley Greene turned in a big game in an 8-5 loss to the Houston Astros on Monday. Greene went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBI but it wasn't enough to overpower the Astros. The veteran outfielder hit a solo shot in the fourth inning and came back with a two-run homer in the eighth. Greene is now hitting .234 with six homers, 14 runs, and 16 RBI across 111 at-bats this season. He now has three homers and eight RBI over his past seven games.Source: MLB.com
Detroit Tigers outfielder Moises Ballesteros Now The Triple-A Batting Average Leader
Moises Ballesteros came into this past weekend hitting .377, but as high as that was, he managed to raise his batting average 37 points to .414 by the time Sunday's games were over. The 21-year-old went 7-for-10 over the weekend and walked more than he struck out (3:1 BB:K). The OPS now stands at a sizzling 1.061 with a .476 wOBA and 183 wRC+. The Venezuelan backstop now owns a 14-game hit streak, has hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games, and has recorded multiple hits in 12 of 22 contests. If it were any other team, Ballesteros would probably be in the majors, but both the Cubs' catchers, their first baseman, and their DH are all hitting well, so there isn't a path to at-bats at the moment. Still, it shouldn't be long until he gets the call, with RotoBaller estimating a June timeframe.Source: MiLB.com
Chicago Cubs catching prospect Yordan Alvarez Exits Monday's Win Early
Yordan Alvarez (undisclosed) exited Monday's 8-5 win over the Tigers in the seventh inning after an "uncomfortable slide," per The Athletic's Chandler Rome. Alvarez slid into second base in the sixth inning but stayed in the game, hitting an RBI single in the seventh inning before being pinch-run for by Zach Dezenzo. Alvarez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for any more news and should pay attention to Tuesday's lineup card, but it seems that Alvarez can be considered day-to-day. The 27-year-old has struggled in the early going, slashing just .217/.319/.359 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 113 plate appearances.Source: Chandler Rome - X.com
Houston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Raisel Iglesias Notches Fifth Save Monday
Raisel Iglesias picked up his fifth save of the season in Monday's 6-3 win over the Rockies. Iglesias entered to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by three. He got the first two outs on a fly-out and a line-out, allowed a double, and ended the game with a strikeout. The 35-year-old veteran has been inconsistent so far this season, converting five of seven save opportunities with a 5.73 ERA, an 8.18 K/9 rate, and a 1.64 BB/9 rate in 11 innings of work. He has split save opportunities over the last seven days with Dylan Lee, who converted one of two with a 0.00 ERA. While Lee has pitched well this season, Iglesias has a long track record of being a higher-end closer, so he will likely be given some leash to get things back on track.Source: MLB.com
Atlanta Braves closer JP Sears Fans Seven In Monday's Win
JP Sears continued his strong start to the season in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers. Sears pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with seven strikeouts. The 29-year-old has been effective through his first six starts, going 4-2 with a 2.94 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and an 8.02 K/9 rate in 33 2/3 IP. He has been a useful fantasy streamer throughout his career, but his middling floor has limited his fantasy value in roto leagues. That being said, he is rostered in just 29 percent of leagues and draws a favorable matchup in his next scheduled start, which is at the Marlins.Source: MLB.com
Athletics starting pitcher Josh Hader Earns Eighth Save Of Season Monday
Josh Hader picked up his eighth save of the season in Monday's 8-5 win over the Tigers. Hader came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by three. He got the first two outs on a fly-out and a strikeout, allowed a double, and ended the game with another strikeout. The 31-year-old has been excellent so far even by his standards, converting all of his save opportunities with a 0.64 ERA, a 12.21 K/9 rate, and a 1.93 BB/9 rate. Free passes and home runs have been issues for Hader at times throughout his career, but he has done a great job limiting free passes and has yet to allow a homer.Source: MLB.com
Houston Astros closer Jose Altuve Hits Two-Run Homer Monday
Jose Altuve had a nice game at the plate in Monday's 8-5 win over the Tigers. Batting second, Altuve went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, and three RBI. The 34-year-old turned on a sixth-inning Jack Flaherty fastball, launching it off the left-field signage to put the Astros up by one. Altuve had been scuffling at the plate recently, so this performance will hopefully jump-start things again. Overall, he is slashing a respectable .282/.316/.409 with four HR, 12 RBI, and three stolen bases in 117 plate appearances.Source: MLB.com
Houston Astros second baseman/left fielder Tre Harris Expected To Fill X Role For Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Tre Harris, who was selected with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft last Friday, is expected to fill the team's X positionread more...
Charlie Condon Visiting A Hand Specialist On Monday
Charlie Condon (wrist) will visit a hand specialist on Monday in Arizona and is looking to get cleared in order to begin strengthening exercises. If he does get clearance, there is a chance he can "return to action" by mid-to-late May if all goes to plan. The 2024 third-overall draft pick played 25 games at High-A Spokane last year, but hit just .180 with a 31.2 percent strikeout rate and 3.7 percent walk rate over 109 plate appearances. The 22-year-old could very well start at that level upon his return, but he'll have to show well and start earning promotions in order to meet MLB.com's major league ETA of 2026. He's certainly got the talent to do it, especially the power, and dynasty managers should keep tabs on his progression.Source: MLB.com
Colorado Rockies third base/outfield prospect Bailey Ober Extends Quality-Start Stretch To Four In Monday's Win
Bailey Ober continued to turn things around in Monday's 11-1 win over the Guardians. Ober pitched 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on eight hits and no walks with two strikeouts. The 29-year-old managed just 6 2/3 IP combined in his first two starts, but he has turned in four consecutive quality starts since. Ober is now 3-1 with a 4.13 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and a 6.89 K/9 rate in 32 2/3 IP. His peripherals are still relatively bloated, but he has looked much better since his disastrous first start. He will look to extend his quality start streak in his next start, which will be a tough matchup at the Red Sox.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Quentin Johnston Needs To Earn His Spot In Training Camp
Quentin Johnston will have to earn his roster spot in training camp this summer after the team added wideout Tre Harris in the second round this year. Harris and Mike Williams are downfield, contested-catch weapons for quarterback Justin Herbert, while Ladd McConkey has already proven himself as a game-changing slot receiver after just one year in the NFL. Popper thinks the Chargers will initially have McConkey in the slot, Williams at X and Harris at Z. Rookie Keandre Lambert-Smith will give the Bolts more speed on the field when they want it. The drop-prone Johnston was better last year with a 55-711-8 line in 15 games, but the addition of Harris is bad news for his fantasy value in single-year and dynasty/keeper formats in 2025.Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
The Athletic's Daniel Popper thinks Los Angeles Chargers former first-rounder wide receiver Noelvi Marte Stays Hot With RBI Triple Monday
Noelvi Marte continued his stellar offensive performance in Monday's 3-1 win over the Cardinals. The 23-year-old went 1-for-2 with an RBI triple and two walks. The former fantasy prospect got called up in the second week of April and has been on a tear, slashing .370/.431/.696 with three home runs, 16 RBI, and four stolen bases in 51 plate appearances. He is currently rostered in just 49 percent of leagues. While it is unrealistic to expect any hitter to maintain production at this level, there may not be much more opportunity for fantasy managers to add Marte if he keeps things up.Source: MLB.com
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Hassan Haskins The Leader For No. 3 RB Job
Hassan Haskins is the leader in the clubhouse for the third running back spot on the 53-man roster this year behind Najee Harris and first-round rookie Omarion Hampton because of his versatility on special teams. Haskins played the third-most special-teams snaps of any Charger last year. Kimani Vidal will have to come to training camp ready to perform to make it more of a competition for the No. 3 job. The 25-year-old Haskins won't be on the fantasy radar in single-year leagues as long as both Harris and Hampton are healthy for the Bolts. The former fourth-rounder by the Tennessee Titans in 2022 out of Michigan had only 34 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns for L.A. in 17 games last year while also adding three catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
The Athletic's Daniel Popper writes that Los Angeles Chargers running back Chargers Plan For 1-2 Punch At RB With Omarion Hampton, Najee Harris
While nothing is set in stone right now, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that the team plans to deploy a booming 1-2 punch with rookie running back Omarion Hampton and read more...
