Matej Blumel Returns to Czechia
Winger Matej Blumel has returned to his native Czechia, signing a four-year contract with HC Sparta Praha. In North America, Blumel had a productive AHL career, but his game didn't translate to the NHL. In four seasons with the Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins, he appeared in only 17 games, recording two goals and zero assists. Blumel, who celebrated his 26th birthday in May, left the Stars as a free agent last offseason, signing a one-year deal with the Bruins. He notched 52 points (21 goals, 31 assists) in 58 AHL games but went scoreless in four NHL outings.
