Alex Perez Drops Decision At UFC Shanghai
Alex Perez suffered a unanimous decision loss to Sumudaerji on the main card of UFC Shanghai on Saturday. The fight was a rematch after their first fight back at UFC Macau in May was declared a no contest due to Sumudaerji landing a low blow that left Perez unable to continue. It was a close fight, with Perez getting the better of wrestling and clinch work, while Sumudaerji was a better striker. In the end, Sumudaerji did more damage and landed more significant strikes to win a unanimous decision. In 15 minutes of action, Perez landed four takedowns and 10 significant strikes. With the loss, Perez dropped to 8-7 with one NC in the UFC.
