Former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo got back in the win column by defeating Montel Jackson in the co-main event of UFC Rio on Saturday. Figueiredo entered the fight coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his career. It wasn't the most exciting fight, as Figueiredo primarily relied on his grappling to ground Jackson, but in the end, when the UFC announcer was reading the scorecards, two judges scored the fight 29-28 for the Brazilian, and the third scored it for Jackson with that same 29-28. In 15 minutes of action, Figueiredo landed two takedowns and 23 significant strikes.

Joel Alvarez extended his win streak by defeating UFC veteran Vicente Luque via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC Rio on Saturday. This is the Spaniard's fourth consecutive victory, and he should probably be matched against a top-15 opponent in his next appearance.
