LJ Martin Has Overall RB1 Potential Against Utah Tech
BYU running back LJ Martin decided to return to college football after a 1,500-yard, 12-touchdown season, setting him up to be one of the nation's most productive ball carriers again in 2026. To open his senior season, he draws a matchup with the Utah Tech Trailblazers of the FCS, who just lost to Montana State 54-0 to open their season. Needless to say, this game is likely to end in ugly fashion, but even if Martin only plays one half, that should give him plenty of time to pile up absurd rushing stats and score a few touchdowns. In last year's season-opener against Portland State, Martin handled just nine touches in a 69-0 win, but he tallied 143 total yards. The risk of being pulled early is always there in Power 4 vs. bad FCS team matchups, but Martin remains an easy must-start.
