Ian Seymour Strikes Out Two, Picks Up Win in Debut
Ian Seymour made his MLB Debut on Monday, coming on in the 10th inning of the team's 10-8 win over the Red Sox in extras. The lefty allowed one unearned run on an error by first baseman Jonathan Aranda, while walking two (one intentional) and striking out two in the two-inning outing. He did not allow a hit in nine batters faced, and because the Rays would take the lead in the top of the 11th and go on to be victorious with Seymour on the mound, the Rays' 19th-ranked prospect would end up as the winning pitcher in the contest. The 26-year-old could be a ratio-enhancer if he ends up sticking around, especially with his strikeout ability, but offers little more fantasy relevance without a closing role.
