Ian Happ Won't Go on Injured List
Ian Happ (shin) will not need a stint on the injured list, according to Jesse Rogers of ESPN. The Cubs are recalling catching prospect Moises Ballesteros and have designated infielder Vidal Brujan for assignment in a corresponding move. Happ left Tuesday's game early against the Milwaukee Brewers after fouling a ball off his left shin, but X-rays came back negative and he will not go on the IL for now. However, the 30-year-old is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest in Milwaukee. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Friday to see if Happ is ready to play in the series opener at Wrigley Field against the Baltimore Orioles. With Happ sitting out in the finale against the Brew Crew, Seiya Suzuki is in left field and Ballesteros will make a start as the designated hitter against Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta.
