Dane Myers to Miss Rest of Season With Knee Injury
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers (knee) suffered a right-knee laceration in a 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season. Myers had to be carted off after crashing into the wall in right field at Citizens Bank Park while attempting to make a catch in the bottom of the second inning. He'll head to the injured list for the third time this season after previously going on the IL twice with oblique strains. The 29-year-old looked like a potential breakout player early in the campaign, as he owned a .862 OPS in mid-June, before his production plummeted over the past few months. In 106 games and 333 plate appearances, Myers hit .235/.291/.326 with six homers, 31 RBI, 29 runs, and 18 steals.
