The Chicago White Sox have placed middle infielder Chase Meidroth (thumb) on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb contusion, retroactive to Aug. 4. The team selected the contract of infielder Jacob Amaya from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Meidroth hasn't played since he took a pitch off the thumb and had to leave early in a 9-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies last Wednesday. The 24-year-old rookie has hit .252/.330/.319 with three homers, 15 RBI, 36 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases in 349 plate appearances this season.--Connor Byrne
