Kyle Isbel Leaves Early With Hamstring Discomfort
Kyle Isbel (hamstring) exited their game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday with left-hamstring discomfort. After Isbel grounded out in the bottom of the second inning, the Royals replaced him in center field with Tyler Tolbert. Isbel has been a defensive standout in center this season, but the 28-year-old hasn't offered much with the bat. Over 134 games and 408 plate appearances, Isbel has hit .256/.301/.354 with four homers, 33 RBI, 42 runs scored, and four stolen bases.

Jose Soriano Exits Early With Forearm Contusion
Jose Soriano (forearm) left his start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday with a contusion on his right forearm. Soriano exited in the second inning after a line drive off the bat of Jake Bauers struck him in the arm, but X-rays came back negative for a fracture. The Angels replaced Soriano with righty Connor Brogdon. After giving up three earned runs in 1 1/3 innings on Wednesday, Soriano owns a 4.26 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP, 152 strikeouts, and 78 walks in 169 innings this season. The 26-year-old is scheduled to make his next start against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.

Trey Yesavage to Pitch This Weekend
Trey Yesavage will pitch in this weekend's series against the Kansas City Royals, manager John Schneider told reporters. However, Schneider is still undecided on whether Yesavage will start or work out of the bullpen. Max Scherzer, Shane Bieber, and Jose Berrios are currently penciled in to toe the rubber during the three-game set, but Schneider may opt to plug Yesavage in after he dazzled in his first major league start on Monday. The highly touted 22-year-old prospect threw five innings of one-run, three-hit ball and logged nine strikeouts against two walks in a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Yesavage now owns the Blue Jays' franchise record for most punchouts in a debut.

Jose Quintana Heads to 15-Day Injured List
Jose Quintana (calf) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday. Quintana was able to play catch on Tuesday without any issues. However, Quintana doesn't appear to be feeling good enough to take the mound right now. The left-hander will miss basically the rest of the regular season, but is eligible to return on September 30. Quintana was forced to exit his latest outing due a mild calf strain. The Brewers are hopeful that Quintana will be back in time for the postseason. Fantasy managers can safely drop Quintana in redraft formats. In a corresponding move, right-hander Nick Mears has been activated off the injured list.

Giancarlo Stanton Absent on Wednesday
Giancarlo Stanton is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. This appears to be a routine rest day for Stanton who has started in each of the last three games. During that span, Stanton went 3-for-12 with two RBI and a run scored. Aaron Judge will slide over to the designated hitter role and bat third versus right-hander Taj Bradley on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly ahead of first pitch.

Anthony Volpe Retreats to the Bench
Anthony Volpe is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. After missing six games due to a left shoulder injury, Volpe returned to the lineup on Tuesday. He did fairly well at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, walk, and an RBI. Despite the solid performance, Volpe will head to the bench a day later. Maybe, the Yankees want to be cautious with Volpe considering he was out with a partially torn labrum. Regardless, Jose Caballero will take over at shortstop and bat ninth against right-hander Taj Bradley on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday to see if Volpe is back in the mix for that one.

Xavier Edwards Missing Fourth Straight Game
Xavier Edwards (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Edwards is now set to miss his fourth game in a row due to a right wrist soreness. He has been sidelined since being scratched ahead of Saturday's contest due to right wrist discomfort. At this point, the Marlins need to consider placing Edwards on the injured list. For now, fantasy managers can consider Edwards as day-to-day. Javier Sanoja will make another start at second base and bat ninth on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

Michael Lorenzen to Pitch Out of Bullpen on Wednesday
Michael Lorenzen is expected to come in as the bulk reliever during Wednesday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Cole Ragans is set to make his first start since coming off the injured list. That being said, Ragans is going to be limited in terms of a pitch count. Lorenzen has been tasked as the piggyback option out of the bullpen for this one. This season, Lorenzen has been a full-time starter, but coming out of the bullpen is something Lorenzen has done plenty throughout his career. The right-hander has mostly struggled this season with a 4.95 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 113/36 K/BB ratio across 24 starts. Lorenzen isn't a recommended streaming option for this game.

Christopher Morel Back in Wednesday's Lineup
Christopher Morel (abdomen) will start in left field and bat cleanup for the Rays on Wednesday against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman. Morel is returning to the starting lineup after being pulled from Sunday's series finale against his old team, the Chicago Cubs, with an abdominal contusion. The 26-year-old appeared as a pinch-hitter in Tuesday's game against Toronto and will now return to the starting nine. He has faced Gausman just twice in his career and has a solo home run. Morel's playing time has dipped in 2025, as he is rarely on the field against right-handed pitchers. The Dominican native is batting a weak .227/.293/.410 with a .703 OPS, 11 home runs, 27 RBI, and seven steals in 256 at-bats. However, he has hit .316 (6-for-19) with a homer and four RBI so far in 10 games in September.

Payton Tolle to Pitch Out of Bullpen for Rest of the Season
Payton Tolle will be a reliever for the rest of the season in Boston, according to manager Alex Cora. With Tolle moving to the bullpen the rest of the way, left-hander Kyle Harrison will move to the starting rotation and will take on the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, per Tim Healey of The Boston Globe. Fellow rookie Connelly Early has been much more impressive than Tolle in their first couple of big-league starts, and Early will start on four days of rest in the series finale on Sunday. Tolle, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, struggled in his first three major-league starts against the Pirates, Diamondbacks, and Athletics, allowing nine earned runs on 11 hits (four homers) while walking six and striking out 12 in 10 1/3 innings. He'll serve in a long-relief role down the stretch as Boston looks to hang onto one of the final wild-card spots in the American League.

Francisco Alvarez Starting on Wednesday
Francisco Alvarez (triceps) is doing the catching for left-hander David Peterson and will hit eighth on Wednesday against the visiting San Diego Padres and right-hander Nick Pivetta. Alvarez was hit on the triceps by a pitch in Monday's win over the Padres and was quickly replaced by a pinch-runner, but he avoided a serious injury and is back in there the very next day. The 23-year-old backstop has been a magnet at the plate and is also playing through a broken pinkie finger on his left hand and a torn UCL in his right thumb, so he's nowhere near 100 percent as the Mets try to hang onto the final wild-card spot in the National League over the final week and a half of the 2025 season. The Venezuelan catcher has hit just .194 (6-for-31) with a homer and an RBI in 11 games in September and can't be counted on for much power while playing through his injuries.

Tyler Soderstrom Returns to A's Lineup
Tyler Soderstrom (groin) is starting in left field and batting cleanup in Wednesday's contest on the road at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Lucas Giolito. Soderstrom will return to action in Beantown after missing the last five games with groin tightness. Fantasy managers will want to get the 23-year-old left-handed slugger back in their lineups against a right-handed pitcher. He's in the midst of a breakout 2025 campaign in his first full season in the big leagues and comes into Wednesday's game hitting .278 (146-for-525) with career-highs across the board in home runs (24), RBI (89), runs scored (71), and stolen bases (eight) in 147 games. Soderstrom has been red-hot in September, too, going 13-for-32 (.406) with a homer, four doubles, and 11 RBI in 10 games. Start him against Giolito.

Connelly Early to Make his Next Start on Sunday
Connelly Early will make his next start on four days of rest in Sunday's series finale against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays, according to Mass Live's Christopher Smith. The 23-year-old former fifth-round pick in 2023 out of Virginia has looked sharp in his first two MLB starts for the BoSox, giving up only one earned run on 10 hits while walking one and striking out 18 over 10 1/3 innings against the Athletics in both outings. While Early has been impressive, this will be only the third time all year that he's been asked to pitch on four days of rest. The team's No. 6-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, went 10-3 with a 2.60 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 132:40 K:BB in 100 1/3 innings with Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester before getting the call to the majors. Early hasn't been known as an overpowering pitching prospect, but he has set up his impressive offspeed pitches with his fastball nicely early in his MLB career.
