Oilers Snap Up Frederik Andersen
The Edmonton Oilers have signed goaltender Frederik Andersen to a one-year contract. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Danish veteran will have a $1 million base salary, with the deal potentially reaching $2.8 million in performance-related bonuses. Playing behind a rock-solid Carolina defense, Andersen posted a 13-2 record, a 1.89 goals-against average, and a .910 save percentage in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, he lost his spot in the Finals to Brandon Bussi for the last couple of games. Andersen's regular-season form was also inconsistent. In Edmonton, he will compete for playing time with Tristan Jarry and Devon Levi, who was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
