Mason Marchment Takes his Talents to San Jose
Left wing Mason Marchment will kick off the 2026-27 NHL campaign as a member of the San Jose Sharks, signing a five-year, $33.75 million contract with the team as an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Marchment, whose father, Bryan, also played for the Sharks, secured a long-term deal on the open market after splitting the 2025-26 campaign between the Seattle Kraken and Columbus Blue Jackets. He tallied 45 points (19 goals, 26 assists) in 68 games, including 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 39 outings after switching teams. Time will tell whether Marchment can replicate his end-of-season form in San Jose. He'll have plenty of exciting offensive talent around him, with Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, and Michael Misa.
