NFL Power Rankings: Where Do All 32 Teams Stand Ahead of Week 9?

Jonathan Taylor - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Quincy's NFL power rankings for all 32 teams heading into Week 9 of 2025. Where does each NFL team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2025 season?

Week 8 brought a handful of relatively unentertaining games in the early slate. Several blowouts and ugly games dominated on Sunday afternoon. The evening games did not fare much better. It was not until the night games that NFL fans were finally treated to a solid game between two relevant teams.

These types of weeks tend to happen when several teams are on bye, especially when most of those teams are among the league's best. Never fear, for Week 9 projects to be much more competitive. Sometimes, several teams simply fail to show up at the same time.

With so many teams on a bye, Week 8 did not do much to move the needle in the power rankings near the top. However, the bottom half of the league experienced some movement with the Jets finally winning their first game and the Titans continuing to struggle mightily. How many teams will find some momentum, and how many will continue to skid? Let's dive in and find out.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. No. 32: Tennessee Titans

The Titans looked like they were going to compete with the Colts through one quarter. Everything fell apart from then on out. The Colts enjoyed another offensive masterpiece against a Titans defense that has exponentially more questions than answers.

No. 31: New York Jets

Rookie head coach Aaron Glenn earned his first win at the helm of the Jets in Week 8. After looking dead in the water against the Bengals, the Jets stormed back in the second half on the back of three total touchdowns from running back Breece Hall.

No. 30: New Orleans Saints

Although the Saints have demonstrated a lot of fight this season, Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a disaster. The Saints pulled quarterback Spencer Rattler in this game in favor of rookie Tyler Shough, who proceeded to almost immediately throw an interception.

No. 29: Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders enjoyed a necessary bye in Week 8. This team has been in a tailspin over the last several weeks. Week 9 could provide them with a chance to reset as a team.

No. 28: Cleveland Browns

The Browns were destroyed by the Patriots in Week 8. The Browns' defense was carved up through the air by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Cleveland's long season will continue. Will we get a glimpse at quarterback Shedeur Sanders before long?

No. 27: New York Giants

The Giants could not find redemption in Week 8 against the Eagles after blowing their huge lead in Week 7 against the Broncos. To make matters worse, the Giants lost running back Cam Skattebo to injury. He is one of the heartbeats of the team.

No. 26: Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins showed up in a big way on Sunday. Their offense could not be stopped against a Falcons defense that was supposed to be the strength of the team. This does not make up for a lost season, but Miami fans at least have something to be proud of coming out of the weekend.

No. 25: Arizona Cardinals

Arizona was one of three NFC West teams on bye in Week 8. The Cardinals have not delivered on their potential this season. Hopefully, their bye gave them a chance to answer some questions.

No. 24: Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals had a golden opportunity to continue winning with quarterback Joe Flacco in the lineup on Sunday. However, they squandered a massive lead to the Jets and ultimately lost. This is the type of loss that can send a team into a full tailspin.

No. 23: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons were forced to start quarterback Kirk Cousins in Week 8 with starter Michael Penix Jr. down due to injury. Their move to Penix was continually justified as Atlanta was unable to get anything going on offense. Cousins may have even played his way out of any other NFL job.

No. 22: Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings' offense struggled mightily against the Chargers on Thursday night. Minnesota is likely feeling ready to move back to second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy in Week 9.

No. 21: Carolina Panthers

The streakiest team in the NFL continued to play as such in Week 8. The Panthers had to start quarterback Andy Dalton with Bryce Young out. Dalton has been able to keep this offense alive in recent years. However, Carolina only mustered nine points in a terrible 40-9 loss to the Bills.

No. 20: Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens grabbed a huge win over the Bears on Sunday despite there being no Lamar Jackson in the lineup. The win brings this team to 2-5 and gives them a huge chance to truly compete in the AFC North with Jackson due back in Week 9.

No. 19: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were on bye in Week 8. This team has serious questions to answer on offense. With a defense that is capable of leading Jacksonville to a divisional title, Jaguars fans can only hope that the bye week brought answers.

No. 18: Washington Commanders

The Commanders have fallen behind the eight ball without their starting quarterback, Jayden Daniels. They have their work cut out for them to catch up with some of the top teams in the NFC after dropping another game to the Chiefs on Monday.

No. 17: Houston Texans

The Texans have won three of their last four games after a big win over the surging 49ers on Sunday. Houston may have difficulty catching the Colts in the race for the AFC South. However, if they continue to win, they could compete for a Wild Card spot.

No. 16: Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys were embarrassed on Sunday by the Broncos. The offense was shut down, and the defense allowed another massive point outing. Dallas needs to make a move for a defensive player at the trade deadline if it expects to truly compete this season.

No. 15: Chicago Bears

The Bears had been steadily climbing the ranks until their inexplicable Week 8 loss to the Jackson-less Ravens. The Bears seem to have a knack for getting hot and then dropping games that they should not.

No. 14: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers were unable to provide quarterback Aaron Rodgers with a win over his former team. Pittsburgh was outmatched in this game, and its defense is becoming a liability.

No. 13: Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers found some footing in Week 8 against the Vikings. The offense crushed a very good Vikings defense. The running game was on fire despite the team's struggles along the offensive line.

No. 12: New England Patriots

New England's schedule continues to cater to the team. The Patriots continue to dominate extremely inferior teams. With quarterback Maye continuing to quickly ascend, the Patriots have a chance for a special season.

No. 11: San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers' injuries finally got the best of them as they could not keep up with the Texans in Week 8. San Francisco has gone 2-2 since a 3-0 start. This team profiles as more of a 0.500 team than an elite contender.

No. 10: Denver Broncos

The Broncos continued their offensive explosion in Week 8 against the Cowboys. With back-to-back games with at least 33 points, Denver is putting itself on the map as a true contender for the AFC West title.

No. 9: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks enjoyed a Week 8 bye after a hot 5-2 start to the season. This team has a lot going for it if it can continue to play at a high level on both sides of the ball.

No. 8: Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles' offense hummed again in Week 8. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has hit his stride this season. Philadelphia is beginning to look like a truly dangerous team now.

No. 7: Green Bay Packers

The Packers mounted a rather large comeback against the Steelers in Week 8. Green Bay's defense made life difficult on Rodgers in the second half. Green Bay appears to be finding its footing.

No. 6: Los Angeles Rams

The Rams watched their three-way tie for first in the NFC West fall to a two-way tie with the Seahawks in Week 8. Los Angeles' bye week likely gave them a great chance to rest and get healthy as they begin their run down the second half of the season.

No. 5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers won an ugly game against the Saints in Week 8 on the back of several mistakes from New Orleans. The Bucs' bye week cannot come soon enough so that this team can get healthy.

No. 4: Indianapolis Colts

The Colts continue to win, and win big. Indianapolis has yet to beat a true contender, but it continues to completely obliterate lesser competition. As the schedule stiffens up, we will find out what this team is made of.

No. 3: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are looking like a team to beat at the moment. After a slow start in the first half of Week 8, this team woke up down the stretch and gave the Commanders a bludgeoning. Never count out Kansas City.

No. 2: Buffalo Bills

The Bills got back on track coming out of their bye week in Week 8. A 40-9 win is a great chance for any team to find itself after two straight losses. Buffalo is right back in the driver's seat as a contender.

No. 1: Detroit Lions

The Lions took their No. 1 position in the power rankings into their Week 8 bye. Detroit looks like the best team in the NFL right now, and they should come out of their bye with plenty of momentum.
