2 Start Pitchers: Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 20 (2025)

Will Warren - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Pranav's 2 start pitchers streamers, fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups, sleepers, starts for Week 20 of 2025 (August 11 to August 17). His top SP matchups with two starts.

Hello, RotoBallers! Welcome back to another Two-Start Pitchers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts article for Week 20 of 2025, from August 11 to August 17. The trade deadline has refreshed many rotations, opening up new opportunities in two-start streaming.

Every week of the 2025 fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers in line to make two starts in the upcoming week. It will look at fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

34 pitchers are currently scheduled for two starts in this period. We will examine the best options with roster rates under 50 percent. Pitchers with roster rates over 50 percent will also be listed. The other two-start pitchers are available, but they are not listed, as they should be avoided.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Cade Horton (39% Rostered), Chicago Cubs

Scheduled Starts: @ TOR, vs. PIT

Cade Horton has been one of the hottest hands in baseball since the All-Star break, with no runs allowed in his last four starts. Through 22 2/3 innings during this hot stretch, Horton holds a 2.62 FIP, 0.75 WHIP, 19.8% strikeout rate, and 8.6% walk rate.

The rookie has improved his season-long statistical profile, as he now holds a 3.18 ERA, 3.90 FIP, 1.22 WHIP, 18% strikeout rate, and 7.6% walk rate through 79 1/3 innings.

Despite the lower strikeout rate, Horton has done well to miss bats this season, with a 13.3% SwStr rate, 29.7% CSW rate, and 27.4% whiff rate. His sweeper has done especially well, with a 22% SwStr rate, 34.7% CSW rate, and .229 xwOBA.

Many of his struggles this season have come from an 11.4% barrel rate (down to 8.6% in his last four starts).

Horton should clean up well against a Pittsburgh offense ranked dead last in scoring this season, likely enough to mitigate any damage done by a Toronto offense ranked fifth in scoring this season.

Will Warren (38% Rostered), New York Yankees

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIN, @ STL

Will Warren hit a bit of a rough patch in July, with a 5.34 ERA, 5.61 FIP, 1.71 WHIP, 17.9% strikeout rate, and 11.4% walk rate through 30 1/3 innings pitched.

This recent stretch of starts has done serious damage to Warren's standing in fantasy baseball, as he now possesses a 4.44 ERA, 3.61 FIP, 1.42 WHIP, 26.1% strikeout rate, and 10.6% walk rate through 24 starts this season.

Despite some missteps this season, the 26-year-old remains an intriguing fantasy baseball asset. His 29.6% CSW rate should keep him afloat in the strikeout category, while his .320 BABIP, 47.6% ground-ball rate, and 3.59 xFIP should eventually get him down to a passable ERA.

However, Warren is gifted with a fairly advantageous two-start week. He'll first take the mound against a Minnesota Twins offense ranked 20th in scoring this season, then he'll see a St. Louis Cardinals offense ranked 14th in scoring this season.

Riskier Two-Start Pitcher Streamer Picks

Jose Soriano (38% Rostered), Los Angeles Angels

Scheduled Starts: vs. LAD, @ ATH

Jose Soriano has given us some good starts this season, but his 4.01 ERA, 3.55 FIP, 1.40 WHIP, 20.3% strikeout rate, and 10.4% walk rate through 24 starts haven't kept him on rosters in fantasy baseball this season.

Soriano will stay in California this week, but that means he squares off against a juggernaut Dodgers offense that leads the league in scoring and an Athletics offense in the hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park.

The 97-mile-per-hour fastball and 70.4% ground-ball rate always make Soriano a fun streaming option, but you must resist the temptation.

Dean Kremer (23% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: vs. SEA, @ HOU

Dean Kremer has given us a good start now and then over the past few seasons, but he hasn’t been someone we’ve come to expect as a safe stream every week. This season, his numbers have looked worse. In 132 1/3 innings, he holds a 4.35 ERA, 4.03 FIP, 1.28 WHIP, 19.9% strikeout rate, and 6.3% walk rate.

Kremer will get two AL West heavyweights, with his matchup against Seattle in Camden Yards being especially worrisome (Seattle holds a .774 OPS on the road). It isn't the week to look for Kremer.

Chris Paddack (21% Rostered), Detroit Tigers

Scheduled Starts: @ CHW, @ MIN

Of course, the Minnesota Twins cleaned house at the deadline. Minnesota’s trade of starter Chris Paddack hasn’t been spoken about much, and that may be for a reason. Through 23 starts for the Twins and Tigers, he holds a 4.91 ERA, 4.44 FIP, 1.25 WHIP, 17.3% strikeout rate, and 5.3% walk rate.

A Chicago White Sox offense ranked 27th in scoring this season, and his homecoming start against a subpar Twins offense should be easy pickings, but you can’t be so sure given Paddack's blow-ups this season.

Zebby Matthews (17% Rostered), Minnesota Twins

Scheduled Starts: @ NYY, vs. DET

Zebby Matthews possesses one of baseball's more unusual statistical profiles, as he sports a 5.17 ERA, 2.74 FIP, 1.38 WHIP, 28.9% strikeout rate, and 6% walk rate through eight starts.

Matthews is an incredibly talented pitcher who has been victimized by disturbingly bad BABIP luck (.375 BABIP) and a few overblown bad starts in his young career.

That being said, you cannot take any pitcher against a Yankees offense that is second only to the Dodgers in scoring and a Tigers offense ranked seventh in scoring this season -- much less, a 25-year-old who seems not to be in the good graces of the baseball gods.

Logan Allen (15% Rostered), Cleveland Guardians

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIA, vs. ATL

Logan Allen has been a serviceable option in many starts for the Cleveland Guardians, and any fantasy baseball manager willing to take the risk. But in totality, his 4.04 ERA, 4.42 FIP, 1.37 WHIP, 17.9% strikeout rate, and 9.1% walk rate through 113 2/3 innings don't impress many.

His 8.9% SwStr rate and 26.3% CSW rate rank among the league's worst, so there won't be much improvement for Allen in the strikeout category soon.

While the Braves are still flailing in the batter's box, the Miami Marlins are among the league's hottest offenses, ranking fourth in scoring in August. Allen might give you a clean start, but the risk of implosion is too high to consider him this week.

Janson Junk (12% Rostered), Miami Marlins

Scheduled Starts: @ CLE, @ BOS

Janson Junk has been among the biggest surprises on a Marlins team that -- for all of their mediocrity -- has surprised the baseball world several times this season. Through 70 1/3 innings, he holds a 3.97 ERA, 2.67 FIP, 1.12 WHIP, 17.7% strikeout rate, and 2.8% walk rate.

Cleveland still ranks 26th in scoring this season, so it is not an existential threat to Junk's week. Unfortunately, a still-hot Red Sox offense ranked fourth in scoring this season should throw a wrench into Junk's plans for fantasy baseball domination.

Andrew Heaney (12% Rostered), Pittsburgh Pirates

Scheduled Starts: @ MIL, @ CHC

Andrew Heaney's season hasn't ticked back up, as he possesses a 4.77 ERA, 5.32 FIP, 1.27 WHIP, 16.4% strikeout rate, and 7.4% walk rate through 115 innings pitched.

Even on his best day, Heaney is not someone you can honestly consider against a Milwaukee team that is trouncing opponents and a Cubs offense ranked third in scoring this season.
