Tyler Wells Throws 49 Pitches in Triple-A Rehab Start
Tyler Wells (elbow) made his second rehab start and first at the Triple-A level on Tuesday. Wells lasted 2 1/3 scoreless innings with three hits allowed and four strikeouts against two walks. The 30-year-old built up to 49 pitches (31 strikes) after tossing 22 in a previous rehab start in Double-A ball. Wells is likely to need at least a couple of more starts before he rejoins the Orioles. He last pitched in the majors in April 2024 and has since been recovering from elbow surgery. He threw a career-high 118 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (20 starts) with a 3.64 ERA, 117 strikeouts, and 34 walks in 2023.
