Kyler Fedko Named Texas League Player of the Week
Kyler Fedko was named the Texas League Player of the Week for his performance from June 23-29 at Double-A Wichita. The 25-year-old went 9-for-23 (.391) with seven extra-base hits, including five home runs, 13 RBI, eight runs scored, three steals, and a 3:4 BB:K in six games. The former 12th-round draft pick caught fire before last week, though, hitting .400 (18-for-45) over his last 12 games and with six home runs in his last eight. The right-handed slugger's 17 home runs on the season lead the entire Texas League, as do his 49 RBI, 46 runs scored, .527 SLG, and .909 OPS. With 142 games under his belt at Double-A between last year and this year, registering a better-than-average 19.9 percent strikeout rate, a strong 13.6 percent walk rate, a .358 wOBA, and a 116 wRC+, it would seem a ticket to Triple-A St. Paul should happen at some point later this season. However, even though he possesses some decent speed as well, the UConn product is not on the dynasty radar at the moment.
