Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton signed a three-year deal worth over $54 million on Monday with the Carolina Panthers, multiple sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Wharton earned the big payday this offseason by leading the Chiefs with 8.5 sacks last year, including the playoffs. In 17 regular-season games (10 starts), he had 29 tackles (18 solo), a career-high 6.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, two pass breakups and a forced fumble in his fifth year in the NFL. The 26-year-old pass-rusher entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri S&T and will now head to the NFC South after racking up 114 tackles (56 solo), 13.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 26 QB hits, one interception, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 72 games (13 starts). The Panthers continue to add to a defense that allowed the most points in the league in 2024.--Keith Hernandez
