Falcons Interview Ian Cunningham for GM job
The Atlanta Falcons announced on Friday that they completed an interview with Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham for their general-manager opening. Cunningham is a finalist as Atlanta searches for their next GM. He has been serving in his current role in Chicago since being hired in 2022. Cunningham will surely be a GM in the NFL sooner than later, and it could come this cycle after the Bears advanced to the Divisional Round of the postseason. The Falcons also interviewed San Francisco 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams on Friday. Head coach Raheem Morris and former GM Terry Fontenot were fired after an 8-9 2025 season, the team's eighth straight losing season. If Cunningham were to be hired in Atlanta, he'd be working closely with new president of football Matt Ryan and new head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Philip Rivers Interviewing for Bills Head-Coaching Job
Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers and current St. Michael Catholic High School coach Philip Rivers is interviewing on Friday for the Buffalo Bills' head-coaching job, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Rivers surprisingly came out of retirement to play for the Colts again in 2025 after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles tear. The 44-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler threw for 544 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in his three starts, but he was unable to help the Colts get into the playoffs before retiring for the second time. Rivers is now interested in coaching at the NFL level, although he feels like more of a long shot to land the Bills' head-coaching job with zero prior coaching experience in the NFL. However, maybe there's a chance he wins over quarterback Josh Allen, who is going to have significant say in who the next head coach in Buffalo is.

Josh Allen Will Have Significant Say on the Next Head Coach
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will have "significant say" on the next head coach of the team, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The Bills are ensuring that Allen is a significant part of the hiring process, following the firing of Sean McDermott on Monday after nine years at the helm. Buffalo has already met with a few head-coaching candidates, and Allen has been sitting in on everything. The Bills are interviewing a wide range of coaches for the head-coaching vacancy, but reports have suggested that they will probably prefer an offensive-minded individual who can develop strong chemistry with Allen. Despite having one of the weaker receiver rooms in the league in 2025, Allen finished as the QB1 in overall fantasy points, although most of it came because of his rushing prowess. The Bills need to get him more help if they are going to get over the hump in the playoffs.

Bills Interviewing Mike McDaniel for Head-Coaching Job on Friday
The Buffalo Bills are interviewing new Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel for their head-coaching job on Friday, a source told Albert Breer of NBC Sports Boston. McDaniel recently agreed to become the new OC for the Chargers after they fired Greg Roman, but he's going to try one more time for another head-coaching gig. He spent the last four years in the AFC as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. If McDaniel doesn't land the job in Buffalo, he will return to his OC duties under Jim Harbaugh in L.A. Although McDaniel's offense petered out last season with the decline of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the injury to receiver Tyreek Hill (knee), he'd be an intriguing fit with quarterback Josh Allen, one of the best QBs in the league. After the firing of Sean McDermott on Monday, the job in Buffalo is the most attractive head-coaching opening in the NFL.

Ravens Hire Jesse Minter as Their Head Coach
The Baltimore Ravens are hiring Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as their head coach on Thursday, signing him to an undisclosed five-year contract, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Minter visited with the Ravens on Wednesday and will now reunite with the team he coached for from 2017 to 2020. The 42-year-old was the defensive coordinator for Jim Harbaugh in L.A. for the last two seasons, and he also coached the offense for Michigan under Harbaugh from 2022 to 2023. Minter will have giant shoes to fill following the departure of long-time head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons in Baltimore. With Minter now the lead man in Baltimore, the team's hiring of an offense coordinator will be important as the franchise looks to get quarterback Lamar Jackson going after a disappointing 2025 campaign.

FBI Investigating the Death of Colts Owner Jim Irsay
The FBI is investigating the death of Jim Irsay, the former owner of the Indianapolis Colts. Irsay died on May 25, 2025, due to cardiac arrest while vacationing in Beverly Hills at the age of 65. The FBI recently began investigating the cause of his death after obtaining a federal grand jury subpoena requesting records on his death, substance use, and his relationship with his addiction recovery specialist, Dr. Harry Haroutunian. Haroutunian oversaw Irsay's health before his passing. Haroutunian has assisted Irsay with his many battles with substance abuse and was responsible for giving him opioid prescriptions and a ketamine injection shortly after his relapse, which he suffered months before his death. Irsay's father, Robert Irsay, became the owner of the Colts in a trade in which he sent the Rams' ownership rights to Carroll Rosenbloom in exchange for the Colts. Currently, Irsay's daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson, serve as co-owners of the franchise, with Carlie serving as CEO.

Bills Interview Joe Brady for Head-Coaching Job
The Buffalo Bills interviewed offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their head-coaching job on Wednesday, according to Alaina Geztenberg of ESPN. Brady has been the team's offensive coordinator for the last two seasons, which makes him an obvious candidate to replace Sean McDermott, who was fired on Monday after nine seasons at the helm. Before being promoted to the OC role in Buffalo, Brady was the team's quarterbacks coach in 2022 and 2023, so he has plenty of experience working with quarterback Josh Allen. In Brady's two seasons calling the plays, the Bills averaged 30.6 points per game in 2024 (second-most) and 28.3 points (third-most) in 2025. They ranked third in yards per game this season with 378.2. In addition to the Bills, Brady also interviewed for head-coaching jobs with the Falcons, Raiders, Cardinals, and Ravens.

Bills Request to Interview Anthony Weaver for Head-Coaching Job
The Buffalo Bills requested an interview with Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for their head-coaching job, sources told The Athletic's Dianna Russini. The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers also have strong interest in Weaver for their head-coaching positions. Although Miami's defense was a weak spot in 2025, Weaver is generating plenty of head-coaching buzz this cycle. We would think he'd be more of a long shot to replace Sean McDermott in Buffalo for a couple of reasons. Weaver doesn't have any prior head-coaching experience, and reports have also suggested that the Bills probably prefer to hire an offensive-minded head coach who can connect with franchise quarterback Josh Allen. In addition to Weaver, the Bills have requested interviews with former Giants head coach Brian Daboll, Jags OC Grant Udinski, and Colts DC Lou Anarumo.

Bills Request to Interview Brian Daboll for Head-Coaching Job
The Buffalo Bills requested to interview former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll for their head-coaching job, a source told The Athletic's Dianna Russini. Daboll has ties to Buffalo and president of football operations Brandon Beane, having served as their offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2021, and he's also a native of Western New York. During Daboll's time in New York, the Bills' offense was a top-five unit in yards and points per game in 2020 and 2021. Daboll didn't have much success as a head coach with the Giants, but his prior success with Allen could make him a leading candidate for the job to replace Sean McDermott, who was fired on Monday. If Daboll doesn't get the job in Buffalo, he's expected to become the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator under new head coach Robert Saleh. The Bills also plan to interview Jaguars OC Grant Udinski and Colts DC Lou Anarumo.

Bills Request to Interview Grant Udinski for Head-Coaching Job
The Buffalo Bills requested to interview Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski for their head-coaching job, a source told Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. The 30-year-old rising young coach also has a second head-coaching interview scheduled with the Cleveland Browns on Friday. After firing Sean McDermott on Friday, the Bills could shake things up and go with a young offensive-minded coach like Udinski to lead their team moving forward while also hopefully developing strong chemistry with quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills led the NFL in rushing in 2025, but it didn't help them get over the hump and return to the Super Bowl. Udinski, who helped quarterback Trevor Lawrence play the best football of his career this year, could potentially improve Buffalo's passing attack going forward. Still, Udinski might be a stretch with no head-coaching or play-calling experience in the NFL.

Bills Request to Interview Lou Anarumo for Head-Coaching Vacancy
The Buffalo Bills requested to interview Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo for their head-coaching vacancy, a source told Dianna Russini of The Athletic. Anarumo interviewed for head-coaching positions with the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans before both those positions were filled, and now he'll get another head-coaching interview after the Bills fired Sean McDermott on Monday. The 59-year-old helped the Colts' defense finish 23rd in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed in his first year with the team in 2025. Reports have suggested that the Bills will most likely go with an offensive mind to pair with quarterback Josh Allen, which could make Anarumo more of a long shot to land the job. Expectations will be high for whoever is hired, since McDermott was fired after leading the Bills to eight playoff wins in his nine years at the helm.

Anthony Campanile a Finalist for Cardinals Head-Coaching Job
The Arizona Cardinals are bringing in Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile for a second, in-person interview for their head-coaching job on Thursday, sources told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The Jaguars' emergence in 2025 was spurred mostly by the defensive unit, which ranked first against the run. Campanile could be the favorite to take over in the desert after the team fired Jonathan Gannon. In addition to the Cardinals, Campanile interviewed for the head-coaching job with the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins. In addition to being first against the run under Campanile this year, the Jaguars' defense was second in takeaways and allowed the third-lowest rushing success rate and 11th-lowest drop-back success rate. If he were to be hired in Arizona, figuring out the quarterback situation would be at the top of his list of priorities.

Mike McDaniel Withdraws from Browns Head-Coaching Search
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel informed the Cleveland Browns that he's withdrawing from their head-coaching search ahead of a scheduled in-person interview on Wednesday, sources told Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. McDaniel is still a candidate for the head-coaching jobs for the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders, and he also has an interview for the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive-coordinator job on Tuesday. He has multiple offensive-coordinator offers and could still land a head-coaching job after the Miami Dolphins fired him at the end of the 2025 season. If McDaniel doesn't get a head-coaching job this cycle, he'll have a couple of intriguing OC offers to choose from, the most attractive of which could be with the Philadelphia Eagles. With McDaniel out of the running in Cleveland, the Browns could be down to Todd Monken, Jesse Minter, Grant Udinski, and Nate Scheelhaase.

Jesse Minter a Finalist for Raiders Head-Coaching Job
The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday that they completed a second head-coaching interview with Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. In addition to the Raiders, Minter is also a head-coaching candidate for the openings with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. He just completed his second season as the Chargers' defensive coordinator in 2025, with the team ranking ninth in points per game allowed (20.0), fifth in total yards allowed per game (285.2), fifth in passing yards allowed per game (179.9), and eighth in rushing yards allowed per game (105.4). Minter also served as a DC under head coach Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, and he was on John Harbaugh's staff earlier in his career with the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders have the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft and are expected to take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

Brian Callahan on the Bengals Radar?
The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. suggests that the Cincinnati Bengals could look to former Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan to fill their offensive-coordinator position if Dan Pitcher takes a job elsewhere this offseason. The Titans fired Callahan in the middle of the season in 2025 after 23 games with the team. He is looking to continue coaching in 2026 and has taken offensive-coordinator interviews with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers. As the previous OC for the Bengals, Callahan has familiarity with the Bengals organization, quarterback Joe Burrow, receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the system, and has a history as head coach Zac Taylor's right-hand man. Pitcher has interviewed for the Cleveland Browns' head-coaching job and also the OC opening for the Bucs.
