Robert Gasser to Get Work as Long Reliever at Nashville
Robert Gasser will transition from starter to reliever at Triple-A Nashville, with the team working to get him multi-inning relief appearances in the event that is what the Brewers could need down the stretch as they make a push for a division crown. Gasser recently completed his recovery from Tommy John surgery, making five starts at Triple-A Nashville, where he recorded a 3.37 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 16.3 percent K-BB%. The southpaw debuted with the Brewers in 2024, making five starts and posting a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and walking just one batter while striking out 16 in 28 innings of work. Since the 26-year-old was optioned to Nashville when he came off the injured list, he'll have to wait 15 days before being recalled, unless he's replacing an injured player. Long-term, Gasser still projects as a starter rather than a reliever and could still develop into a solid major league pitcher.
