Fantasy Baseball 1B/3B Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 14 (2024)

Hunter Goodman - fantasy baseball rankings prospects draft sleepers MLB injury news

Lauren's fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for 1B and 3B for Week 14 of the 2024 season. Consider adding these free agent first basemen and third basemen.

Another week of baseball is down, and it's time to look at more first base and third base fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 14 — June 24 through June 30.

Somehow, it is already the last week of June, and the MLB All-Star break is only a few short weeks away. It wouldn't surprise me if some names on this list made it to Texas to represent their respective teams. However, they can still aid your fantasy team even if they don't.

The days remaining between now and the ASG are crucial because once the break passes, the trade deadline occurs, and from then on, it's a sprint until October begins. The 2024 campaign is going by in the blink of an eye, and so is the fantasy baseball season. While it's not too late to make up ground in the standings, it's never to early to begin thinking about your last-season strategies.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Waiver Wire Pickups for Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)

Ryan O'Hearn, 1B/OF, Baltimore Orioles (44% rostered)

Just when it seemed the Orioles couldn't get any more talented, Ryan O'Hearn is having another career year offensively for them. In fact, he's even better than last season when he produced a .289 average and hit 14 home runs in 368 plate appearances. The veteran already has nine homers in over 220 PAs in 2024 and is batting .287.

Baltimore is coming off of a huge series win against their division rival Yankees and is feeling their oats. O'Hearn has shown no signs of slowing down since his hot start, having a .320/.379/.400 slash line in the last week, adding seven RBI and three walks. He has a .898 OPS in June and helped bring the O's within a half-game of New York for first place.

Brendan Donovan, 1B/2B/3B/OF, St. Louis Cardinals (45% rostered)

Yeah, yeah, I know Brendan Donovan just appeared on this list last week, but it's hard not to include him here after his long home run at Rickwood Field. Plus, he's still been dominating offensively, slashing .345/.345/.586 in his last seven games. His elongated numbers look great, too, with a .834 OPS across his last 30 contests.

Considering his continued success at the plate, it's somewhat surprising that he's under 50 percent rostered. His .299 average and .792 OPS in June is his best for any month of the season so far, and he could be well on his way to representing the Cardinals in his first-ever All-Star Game in July.

Waiver Wire for Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)

Carlos Santana, 1B, Minnesota Twins (26% rostered)

Perhaps nobody in the league has been hotter than Carlos Santana in June (not even Kyle Schwarber!) The veteran owns a 1.076 this month, collecting 21 hits, including four home runs, and adding 15 RBI and six walks. He's also struck out just six times, compared to 20 and 15 times in April and May, respectively. Additionally, his 12 homers lead the team.

At 38 and now with over 2,000 career games under his belt, Santana may never see a better month for the rest of his career. Take advantage of this late-career surge while you can. The former All-Star seems to fit nicely with the Twins, though, and his leadership is paying dividends to the young Minnesota club looking to make it even further in the postseason this year.

Noelvi Marte, 3B, Cincinnati Reds (25% rostered)

Noelvi Marte's 80-game suspension ends on June 27, and the Reds, who have failed to reach their potential this season, will welcome him back with open arms. However, looking for offensive consistency, Cincinnati hopes that Marte puts up better numbers upon his reinstatement than he did during his minor league rehab assignment. He's batted just .175 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base, and 11 strikeouts.

Based on manager David Bell's recent comments, the club doesn't seem too concerned about his lackluster performance. Marte put up a .316 batting average with three homers, 15 RBI, and six stolen bags in 35 games in 2023. He is still only 22, and his rostered percentage shows that fantasy managers haven't given up on him.

Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider (Under 10%)

Hunter Goodman, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies (2% rostered)

Coors Field is the gift that keeps on giving. Hunter Goodman has hit four homers in his last seven games, driving in nine runs, batting .280, and slugging .800 (!) The former fourth-round pick of Colorado hasn't had a great year overall, with an OPS below .700, and has more strikeouts than hits.

Unfortunately, the Rockies wrap up their homestand on Sunday, but considering the home run tear he's on right now, Goodman could be worth the add. Colorado travels to Houston and Chicago next to meet with the Astros and White Sox.

More Waiver Wire Pickups to Consider

  • Dylan Moore, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Seattle Mariners (15% rostered)
