Dallas Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton III injured the thumb on his throwing hand during Tuesday's practice and left early. After getting off to a hot start in the practice session, Milton banged his thumb on another player's helmet and made an early exit as a result. When asked about it, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters that Milton's removal was precautionary. While Dallas has not indicated the severity of the injury, it appears that Milton will not miss an extended period of time in training camp. Milton, a sixth-round pick by the New England Patriots in the 2024 draft, turned heads by throwing for 241 yards and one touchdown in a spot start in Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills. He will serve as the backup for the oft-injured Dak Prescott in 2025 and would draw plenty of fantasy interest if Prescott were to miss time in the upcoming season.--Matt Terelle
