Fantasy Football RB, WR, TE Player Outlooks

Cooper Kupp, Seattle Seahawks

New Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is looking to put aside his injury woes and deliver for his new team in 2025. Kupp is coming off another strong campaign in which he caught 67 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. Kupp notably fell off at the end of the season, totaling just four catches and 53 yards from Weeks 15 through 17. The end of the season and the change in scenery have led to a serious depression in Kupp's value as he is currently being drafted as a low-end WR3 or borderline flex option and is ranked as WR49.

However, Kupp's fall from grace at the end of the season was more of a reflection of the Rams scheming him out of the offense rather than a fall-off in ability. Before that rough stretch, Kupp was comfortably producing WR2 numbers on a weekly basis. Kupp may not be the Triple Crown winner he once was, and he may be taking a downgrade at quarterback, but this is still a player with enough in the tank to deliver solid numbers for fantasy.

He is a savvy veteran who always knows where to be. As such, he is a quarterback's best friend, and he should mesh well with new Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. The Seahawks' offense has produced two WR2s for several years. Kupp can comfortably be drafted at his current ADP with potential upside for a low-end WR2 season if this offense meshes well.

- Quincy Milton III

Joe Mixon, Houston Texans

The Houston Texans traded for running back Joe Mixon in March of 2024 after the 28-year-old enjoyed seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Mixon was a valuable fantasy asset in a Bengals' offense that raised his ceiling and afforded him a ton of volume. He continued producing after the move to Houston, a lone bright spot in an offense marred by injury while battling an early-season ankle issue of his own that lingered.

Mixon ripped off a stretch of games during his return from injury in Week 6, rushing for at least 100 yards and one touchdown in six of eight contests, and was much better on a fantasy points per game basis (eighth) than his PPR RB17 finish. Houston traded for wide receiver Christian Kirk earlier this year, and they'll need him after Stefon Diggs' departure and the news that Tank Dell (knee) may miss the entire 2025 season.

Additionally, they've beefed up quarterback C.J. Stroud's arsenal of pass-catchers in the draft, including former USC running back Woody Marks, and Iowa State wideouts Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins to fit with Nico Collins and Kirk. Marks threatens the reception work Mixon shouldered last year, but a better offense should benefit him overall as long as he retains most of his volume.

- Alex Ciulla

Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney fell just eight receiving yards short of his second career 1,000-yard campaign in 2024. The former Chicago Bear earned a 21.3% target share in his first year with the Dirty Birds and racked up 64 receptions for 922 yards and five scores. With tight end Kyle Pitts continuing to disappoint and the Falcons deciding not to add significant target competition this offseason, Mooney could once again operate as the team's No. 2 option in the passing attack behind Drake London.

It's tough to know what to expect from first-year full-time starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr., but he attempted 33.3 passes per game in his three starts a season ago, which is encouraging for Falcons' pass-catchers in fantasy. Mooney finished last year's campaign as the WR31 in PPR setups, and he's going around the WR50 range in early drafts.

While he doesn't have a WR1 ceiling, he should be a playable flex option, and a WR2 finish is in the range of outcomes if Penix exceeds expectations. Consider the Tulane product an intriguing flyer in the double-digit rounds of fantasy drafts.
