Kayla Harrison Is The New Champion
On Saturday, Kayla Harrison became the new UFC women's bantamweight champion after defeating Julianna Pena in the co-main event of UFC 316. Harrison easily won the first round, as she outwrestled and outgrappled Pena. Harrison once again mauled Pena in the second round and worked her way into the kimura that secured a tap from her opponent. In 9:55 of action, Harrison landed two takedowns and 30 significant strikes. After the fight, retired two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes entered the cage to do a staredown with Harrison, confirming that Harrison's next opponent will be Nunes.
