ANALYSIS: Following their Opening Day victory over the Colorado Rockies, the Miami Marlins promoted first base prospect Deyvison De Los Santos to the major-league roster. De Los Santos spent nearly the entire 2025 season at our Triple-A level and was knocking on the MLB door for most of the campaign.
He got the start in Triple-A Jacksonville's season opener on Friday night, and did not disappoint, going 2-for-4 with a home run before earning the call to make his eventual MLB debut.
Last summer, De Los Santos spent 106 of his 110 MiLB games with Jacksonville and carried a .241/.311/.363 line with a .674 OPS. During this stint, De Los Santos hit 11 doubles and 12 home runs. However, during his first stint at Triple-A Jacksonville back in the 2024 campaign, he posted a much higher .743 OPS with a similar 11 home runs over a much shorter 50-game stint.
Prior to their season opener on Friday, the Marlins announced that starting first baseman Christopher Morel was scratched with an oblique injury, which seems to have paved the way, for the time being, for De Los Santos' promotion. For the time being, the young slugger could see consistent playing time and is worth adding in deep 12+team leagues as a corner infielder with power upside.
