Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Trey Yesavage (knee) is scheduled to start against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. Yesavage has been out since August after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. He only made one rehab appearance at Triple-A Buffalo before getting cleared to pitch for the big league club. The Jays plan to have Yesavage pitch roughly three innings or around 45 to 50 pitches. Spencer Miles is expected to take over for the bulk of the innings after Yesavage is done. It'll be interesting to see if the Jays decide to shut down Yesavage if they do get eliminated from playoff contention. Until then, it sounds like the right-hander is going to contribute here soon.

Toronto Blue Jays' starting pitcher, Trey Yesavage, (shoulder) burst onto the scene on the biggest stage for the Blue Jays last season on their run to the World Series, which ended up coming down to the wire against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The former 2024 first-round pick spent most of his 2025 season climbing up the minor leagues, where he threw 98 innings with a 14.69 K/9, 3.77 BB/9, a 3.12 ERA, and 0.97 WHIP across all levels. Once he was called upon by the big league club in September, he started three games and threw 14 innings with a 1.43 WHIP, 3.21 ERA, and a 10.29 K/9. Where Yesavage really flashed his brilliance was during the postseason run, where he was (3-1) with a 3.58 ERA and 39 strikeouts in five starts (six appearances) and 27 2/3 innings pitched. Yesavage is considered the Blue Jays top prospect and projects to be the team's No. 3 starter to open the season behind Kevin Gausman and newly acquired Dylan Cease. The 22-year-old features a north/south movement profile, primarily focusing on his four-seam fastball, slider, and split-finger. As a result, in his short stint at the Major League level, he generated an excellent 56.4 percent ground ball rate to go along with a 35.4 percent whiff rate. RotoBaller currently ranks him as the 35th-ranked pitcher off the board, while NFBC ADP has him at 155.0. Fantasy managers looking for a young, high-upside arm should be looking to target him in their upcoming drafts. Update: 3/22/2026: Yesavage will start the season on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement. It's unclear how much time he will miss, but the earliest Yesavage could return is mid to late April. With the injury, his fantasy stock has fallen and is now ranked 248th overall in the latest RotoBaller rankings.less...
